Re: Josh Bruce to be traded?

Recruiting Ryder doesn’t seem to fit into what I thought were Ratten’s plans for improving the team. While it is clear that our ruck stocks need attention this doesn’t seem to value add to the team.

Does anyone know if Ryder has had a medical?

Re: Time for Ratten to Get Tough on Saints Artcile

McGuane must have done his assessment using darts as there are some very odd gradings of some of the players there eg Armitage, Clark, Wilkie etc.

Re: Ryder to Saints (two year deal)

Ryder is not an answer. I am hoping that the recruiting department will surprise and pull some decent rabbits out of the hat. Very few of the players being linked to the Saints so far are going to take us forward. It's early days and hopefully they can keep targets under wraps but not liking what is...

Re: Has today's heavy loss hurt Ratten's chances??

WE prioritised athleticism during the Lyon era over skill, and quick fix half-assed footballers (Brett Peake a painful case in point) We then prioritised character ("good bloke, good family, good head on his shoulders") Since Lethers, recruiting language has changed to looking for skill. ...

Can’t say I can remember seeing that before either. Umpires have been cleaned up but I can’t recall a knockout.

Re: Geelong (allegedly) makes first offer for Stuv

For what it's worth, Tom Morris (On the Couch) last night was re-iterating that Brad Hill's preferred destination was the Saints but it was the panel's view that it would take 2 first rounders to get a deal done.

Re: The awful truth about AFL maggots

So how does this all tie in to the team free kick differentials in the "Umpires pets" thread? It would suggest that there is still more to it than the analysis referred to above indicates. Even suggesting that a team's skill level affects the free kick differential doesn't seem to necessar...

D. King seems to have exhausted his one trick pony act of sprouting meaningless "stats", and his inside line to clubs/players seems to have dried up. Looks like he is making stuff up and or being so nod nod wink wink with the obvious. Plenty of smart newly retired players with fresh appro...

On what they have shown recently if Richmond had to choose between keeping Chol or Soldo I suspect they would lean towards retaining Chol.

Re: Brad Scott to be announced as Saints coach in August

While St. Kilda's management has shown some ineptness over time I struggle with the concept that the Saints would have arranged a new coach without an apparent full formal process and with the existing coach still in place.

We'll see I guess.

Umpire's boss to Mr. Foot: You do realise that there were two teams on the field on Sunday. Mr. Foot: Yes. Umpire's boss: Good, nothing wrong with your eyesight then. Let's move on... Unless the club pursues the issue with some vigour I can't see the AFL doing anything based only on fan complaints. ...

White appeared to have a leg injury. Did OK up forward in those circumstances - would have been handy if he had kicked goals instead of points though.

Battle looked far better once he went back and he still kicked a great goal.
