Around the world with the Lions

In the week leading up to our match against the Lions, I am just going to post the Saints travels to face their merger partners, the ever-popular nomadic Fitzroy globetrotters.

Re: Finals team

I know BM won't agree with me, but I think Howard (31) could be in that side. I certainly don't think we should waste any draft picks or cap space on trying to recruit an alternative tall backline player: the only ones we are likely to recruit are unlikely to be much better. Butler will only be 31 ...

Re: If the shoe had been on the other foot

You can see Windhager is living rent free in Miller's head. Miller slipped over in the final seconds - he never usually does that, he is usually very confident. Another scalp to Windhager.

BTW - King should have received a 50 at the end for player dissent.

If the shoe had been on the other foot

Do you think the Suns supporters and coach would bemoan their King getting a free (which was there) and winning the game? Yeah, thought so. The free was there and for those of you who weren't at the game, King was being held all night. And Wood's goal was disallowed anyway to give a free kick which ...

Re: Marvel isn't an advantage anymore

Well done to all the Sainters last night who made the last few minutes a cauldron! Real rusted on, die hard supporters!
It is a joke how the AFL are trying to manufacture a team on the Gold Coast who had about 7 supporters there and a drum.

Re: tonight's game took the King's Birthday Weekend Literally

I'm happy that the plastics lost - I don't think it's good for footy how the AFL have rigged the draft, so I'm happy for GWS and the Suns to lose (even to Hawthorn). And it was great to hear that North beat the Eagles. There will be a bit of pressure back on them now that they have lost their last t...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

For St Kilda supporters to complain when we finally get the rub of the green is a bit disingenuous. A goal from Mason Wood was disallowed by a dubious free last night too. The Suns got lucky last week, and this week they were on the other end. They didn't deserve to win anyway; we were the better si...

From what I understand

He is a certainty to be a Hawthorn next season

Which is disappointing
Offer him the captaincy.

It is the King's Birthday long weekend, not the KINGS' Birthday long weekend!

Oh, and North - you're welcome, don't mention it.

The surface looked shitt tonight Slippery and may suit Gold Coast more than us Be nice if we were gifted all the advantages those plastics were given with ribbons attached. They're still sh1t and the hubris on their socials is actually quite laughable. Their preview of the game, including game day ...

Re: Sandringham v Frankston

Just watched the replay of the last qtr (jet lag interrupted sleep) Sharman looked a class above that qtr. His last goal was also a credit to work rate- he started the transition defensive side of the wing and then followed up to ultimately finish the play too. He is the exact sort of player you do...

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room

I watched the Doggies vs Pies. Several times, they had 3 talls moving apart from each other, like 20m -30m apart. Commentators highlighted this. Saying it stretched the defence and the talls didn't spoil each other. Also, the delivery is a lot better than ours. Several times, I think we had King an...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Weagles Round 12 2024

We can do so much better But I'm still happy as we just beat the toast for the third straight time in Perth . We've only done this once before during the Alves era . Hopefully we can make it a record four next time we play them over there . And we beat them 3 out of 4 times in Perth between 2007-20...

We should have learned by now with the examples of Acres, Hind and others that the issue of players' development stagnating comes down to a lack of real player development. I put it down to Sandy - I mean come on, they were lucky to beat the Dolphins last night, seriously. End this bullsh1t alignmen...
