Re: Best 22 - round 1 2020
If Bytel gets fit, then he may push for selection very late in the season. The medical staff will be careful managing him. If what I saw of him in U18s translates to AFL, then look out. Agree, as a 17 year old was second to Sam Walsh in possessions for the season and also co-captained Calder. Strug...

Re: Carlisle staying
Should not have played this year and left to recover fully. The attitude could have been the fact that he knew he could not perform to the required level which would demonstrate his frustration. You could clearly see he was no where near the player from early last season. Let him re-hab and get a st...

Did Kevin Bartlett, Tim Watson, Michael Voss, Carl Ditterich, Ross Smith, Darryl Baldock, Peter Knights, Wayne Schimmelbusch, Francis Bourke club legends in their own right not to mention many others, make good coaches. This has become a Robert Harvey Bro-mance. Its like any job some people are grea...

Re: Ratten gets the gig
If Harvey was mean't to be a senior coach he would have been chased by many clubs prior to this position being available. I too love Robert Harvey but he has not single handedly coached a group at any other level and i believe that is probably what holds him back. Congrats to Ratten but regardless o...

Re: Carlisle on trade table
Given the Giants horror run with injuries i can't recall him having any impact in any of their games. you would think he would be one of the leaders who stands out but seems to fall short. Don't think he's worth chasing.

Re: Josh Bruce to be traded?
His efforts over the past month shows a passion second to none. He is often playing to poor kicks into forward line and also has to take on two to three players at a time. No way should he be traded we want to build a side with a lot of spirit and passion. I understand he probably has good value but...

Re: Carlisle on trade table
Refer bio from Giants website Adam Tomlinson is a versatile tall who can play at either end of the ground but developed as a key forward early on. After being selected by the GIANTS with pick nine in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, Tomlinson made his debut against the Swans in round 1, 2012. Tomlinson strug...

Re: Who do we want to coach us and who do we think will?
Ratten should get the job as i think he has already identified some damning issues regarding skill. As far as Harvey goes please no, i love the guy but not coaching anywhere outright ( local, VFL or interstate ) with him calling the shots concerns me as there have been numerous coaching jobs going o...

Re: Carlisle on trade table
I think there is more to Carlisle than everyone thinks. Personally i think he was rushed back into the side with the hope of making finals. He clearly is not the player he was prior to his surgery. His strong marking has been minimal which watching him move shows that he is struggling. He can hardly...

Re: BRANDON WHITE
Taken 40 th in a 2015 draft where most of the players picked ahead of him are current regular senior players so you really have to look and see what or where is it that he is deficient. Is there something in his preparation or willingness to work harder on directives given to him by the club. Kids c...

Re: Brad Crouch anyone?
Football teams are very rarely blessed with 22 A graders so the balance is to compliment B /C graders with a A graders in positions that allow the team to be successful. If you look at our sides 2009/2010 we had players like Ray, Blake, Dawson, McQualter, Gwilt, Baker, Armitage, Jones which you coul...

Just hope its not as severe and he's made a complete recovery. Often worries me that some play injured and ultimately costs longer term.

You may find that Webster may just be given the rest of the year off. Jake Carlisle played all last year with a bad back and look at what happened to him so maybe our medicos don't want to force the issue.

He spoke about when Clarko interviewed he basically nailed it and they knew they had the right...

I think we fell for the romance of getting a father / son. I think he will only ever be a good vfl/local footballer. I don't think he ever looks like he's totally invested in a career at the highest level.

I think Long just needs to be given a role but allow him to use some of his own instinct. Game time is paramount but maybe challenge him quarter by quarter rather than complicating his game by having set whole game instruction. To good a player to get rid of.

Opposition sides at Tac used to have to tag Clark when he was playing off a half back flank . Kid will only get better. Absolute gun!
