Re: Beau announces retirement

Beau, thank you for your contribution to St Kilda FC.
A gutsy warrior, you always gave 100% effort. What more could anyone ask?
Good luck for your future!

Re: Get rid of Runners

We copped a free against us because of our runner last weekend. I can't believe the runner in the Cats/Blues game who smashed into the carlton player at the stoppage with only seconds to play didn't give away a free because the umpire hadn't started play. Players come off the ground every 8 minutes...

Re: Indigenous Round guernsey

The story behind http://saints.com.au/news/2014-05-23/saints-unveil-indigenous-guernsey I really like the St Kilda guernsey. Using our colours of red, white & black it presents a strong, uncluttered, dignified design. I like the symbolism connected with this design, & that it acknowledges t...

No way, Jose! The last thing we want at the club is troublemakers. The rebuild is also about the club gaining a new and positive image amongst the greater community. Agree. This is not the first time that Greene has been in trouble, and he's now facing a number of charges of SERIOUS assault, and wi...

Re: Conditions

You could actually start the game at say 130pm new Zealand time which would be 11:30am Melbourne time.

This would then lead into the Coll v Ess game, but that would make too much sense!
Excellent suggestion!

Re: Vent your spleen thread

Players seemed unprepared for the slippery conditions in the the first half. Very frustrating to watch so many missed shots at goal, especially from experienced players. Do players actually practise goal kicking at training, especially when they're tired? No excuse for a player giving away 50 metres...

Re: The road to 2014

I'm really glad that the club has a plan for 2018 and this is in no way a criticism of the club who have to take a long term view. But I'm not prepared to put my passion on hold for four years, and graciously accept losses as another step towards some hypothetical success in the future. I am a 2014...

Re: LEDIFIED extends deal by 2 years

"Many of our sponsors over the years have been short term , so its good to see LEDified extend there deal and back the club !" I noticed their ads on TV during the Aust. Open Tennis. (I think). Under each ad was the St Kilda badge, & the phrase, "Proud major sponsor of St Kilda Fo...

Saints in the off season.

With just two days to go till the start of the 2014 season I think I can safely say that no player has put a foot wrong (since the Mad Monday episode). No drink driving, illegal drugs, fights, assaults, public drunkenness, racism etc.
All media publicity has been positive.
Good on you ,Saints!

It's true.. However, Weller is a rookie, so would not have been playing in Round 1, regardless.

Everyone's got different opinions on different players but at the end of the day they're all Saints.

I have never understood the need to publicly berate and ridicule those we don't rate highly.

How does that help anyone or achieve anything?
Totally agree!!

I think Sydney will be right up there in 2014, but surely our Irish recruit won't get a game with Buddy & Tippett playing.
He was an emergency when they won in 2012, I believe.

Who'll be first ....

Which ex St Kilda player do posters think will be first to win a flag with their new club? McEvoy at Hawthorn? Very possible. I think his height & strong marking will be definite assets, & I don't think Buddy will be missed too much. Hawthorn should have another good year. However, it's very...

She melted in the second round after holding an early lead. She gave it her best shot in all the heat, but not quite good enough. The commentator mentioned that she loves her football , & is a great supporter of St Kilda FC. Sam Stosor, another Saint, was firing last night and is now into the 3...

Runners put on notice.

Pleased to see the AFL is looking at the role of runners during games.
Options include cutting back to one, or allowing them on the ground only at stoppages.
It's always annoyed me the way they linger on the ground, blocking and coaching. Even our own club!

CULTURE

I listened to Psychologist, Jacqui Louder, on SEN this morning. Admittedly, just one person's opinion, but when asked to name an AFL team with a good culture, she instead nominated Melbourne Storm as having the best culture of any team she knows. With further questioning, she described the CULTURE a...

Sorry for my fat fingers...should be KEEP DAL! I, too, want DAL to stay. He's been LOYAL to us over many years. Though he could have left for more money, and possibly had a premiership medal, he's remained, and is still one of our best players each week. I'd like to see St Kilda recognise & rew...
