Re: Hard not to agree

Watch the hawks and cats today to witness courage, gut-running, endeavour and attacking play. Compare this to our insipid, limp-wristed efforts. Awesome to witness. We need an injection of hardness, belief and self-sacrifice.

Re: Can they take it?

Don't know about the players, but as a rusted on member for 60+ years I can't remember a game that has left me so devastated! Guess it was the excellent performance last year and great pre-season form, with most commentators predicting a top 8 or 6 finish that deluded me up until round 2. Never saw...

Matt Parker

Any chance we could redraft Parker mid-year? Here’s part of an article on South Frematle’s win over West Perth in today’s Sunday Times: “Parker looked a class above in his return to South Fremantle after 19 games in two seasons at St Kilda, with his elite work rate and pinpoint disposal on display. ...

Re: Round 3 Game thread

There is something seriously wrong the players were playing completely reactive and are appeared confused. There is no way Essendon are a 70 point better team. It goes to show that when you give kids a chance to play that are hungry to perform and hungry to retain their spot in the team that you’ll...

Re: Round 3 Game thread

There is no defending this . Insipid performance from a bunch of front running big heads. We cannot carry three small forwards if they cannot be accountable. Hill needs to be dropped. As simple as that. Zac Jones' kicking is a liability. Our defensive effort is completely gone. It was a strength la...

Now I know why Richmond let Butler go...he’s a passenger. Add Hill, Hannebery, Lonie and Sinclair to that list.

Clever and very hard working player. Was very good and unselfish last night. The chip to Geary was great as Bulldogs players thought he was going for goal. Have long been a Lonie fan, the lone Lonie fan I think here for a while. I wish he'd stop the staging BS though, my only real bug bear with him...

Re: Ben Paton run and bounce

With three Dogs on him in the third....set up the Butler goal. Sign him up and Lonie too - his composure in the F 50 is excellent Lonie‘s a good player, but he has to learn how to use the right side of his body. He’s one dimensional, predictable and can be easy to defend. He could be great, if he p...

Re: Kent

So other than Hannebery who is elite, Sinclair who was once classified as elite, Well IMO Sincs is an elite user of the ball. He makes good and quick decisions and then delivers the ball well to advantage. He is not an elite player at present though because his disposal count is not high enough. He...

Re: Changes for the Second Semi Final against Richmond Tigers

Replace Ryder with a tall, athletic, enthusiastic youngster. Sam Alabakis? Shades of big Carl at the Junction Oval yonks ago. Roll the dice don’t go conservative. Bring back Parker for Kent, or throw him into Long’s position. He has flair, a touch mongrel and fast closing speed. This is a do, or die...

Re: Umpires

Even in the last 20 seconds the umpires were just atrocious. Soft free to Keath against Max. Totally ridiculous and soft. I think from the same prick too. What goes around, comes around. The Eagles are a bunch of in your face whingers. Their supporters sook even when they get the rub of decisions. ...

Re: Ben Paton run and bounce

Paton will get less hype than a lot of others but he is becoming a very good player. Makes the right decisions, knows when to spoil and when to mark and has the right mix between defence and attack. We’ve got a defensive unit that could play together for the next 8 years and will only improve. We n...

Re: Hannas back for GWS next week

Hardly worth bringing him up to spar with Jr if he doesn't. Though perhaps it was just an implicit threat to the mid field to improve or else. But that group don't threaten easily. Unfortunately they don’t show the leadership Hannas can. We should have closed out Thursday nights game but WC leaders...

Acres has more upside. He’s taller, stronger, younger, takes a good contested grab, actually tackles and breaks tackles, wins his own football ..and all for about half Hill’s price.
