Tim Watson said seven starting Saints are missing vs Pies. Who are they?

Jones, Clark, Billings, Ryder, that's as far as I can stretch his comment. Jones and Ryder are locks, but also regularly injured. Billings and Clark are borderline starters IMHO, particulatly Clark, neither of them are game changers. Who else have I overlooked? Who are the other three missing starte...

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence

Tony74 - do you know why our lovely Georgia is taking time off? Any light at the end of the tunnel? You were joking there, surely? No, not really. It could be something simple that could be alluded to. Like a personal problem or a family crisis. She is a special player and I was hoping that she did...

Probably wins the Norm Smith and a flag with the Dees.

He looks like a taller, less mobile version of Wilkie, so he could fit the bill at CHB.

Re: Lions

Not sure Richo ever had anything to genuinely smile about after he got the coaching gig with us to be fair to him! Back on thread topic, I was keeping an eye on the scores in that Lions game while I was out for 1 of the 5 reasons to scratch yourself and I noticed that the last quarter went for 40 mi...

Re: The spitter

What about The swallower, is he a backman. No he's a midfielder who pushes hard backward to use his elite second-to-the-ball defending and ball-losing ability, while a half back pushes up hard into the midfield. Our best potential swallower is probably Ross, with Clark pushing through the midfield ...

Re: Team v Dockers

If Lonie has kicked less goals than games played then that record is poor for a midfielder, let alone a specialist forward pocket. I'm sure that he has had at least twice as many shots at goal as games played, but usually from the left forward pocket, where his opponents hem him in, knowing that he ...

Paton Howard Webster
Sinclair Battle Wilkie
Floater Highmore (has passed Coffield)
Hill and Clark should be in the midfield.
The rest are depth.

Re: Daniel McKenzie says hi

My WTF realisation about DMac was the West Coast game in Round 4, where I found myself turning to a rose-coloured Saints couple next to me and said "gee Mackenzie has really played well today"! He was clearly in our best players that day and deserved Coach's votes. I think that was his fir...

If Richo had done the presser for the Demons after the game, I'm sure the phrase "if we can just park that last quarter after the lightning break......." would have been trotted out.

Re: WCE vs Dees

The goalpost uprooting in the relative darkness at Waverley in July '96 wasn't nearly as entertaining as the streaker. I went to the game with my father and we got separated in the darkness (no he wasn't the streaker). I was on the concourse in the outer fotward pocket at the Jacksons Rd end when I ...

Re: Kent

He kicked that goal that he opted to do a set-shot snap from virtually directly in front on the open side for his left foot, but what a weird option. I'm glad it went through, but that decision was reminiscent of Lonie's weird brain-fade left-foot banana set shot against Adelaide on only a 30° angle...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 21 2021

I'm still not sure we can win this, given our failure to run out many games and Sydney's motivation to win and move into the top four if Port keep losing to the Crows.
Ironically our accurate kicking, particularly by Higgins, is keeping them at arm's length so far.

Left field ruck option for 3022

Does anyone remember who rucked for us in our comeback win against West Coast in round 4? Two players nullified Nic Nat that day, an underdone Rowan Marshall and a back-injury hampered Jake Carlisle! Clearly Carlisle's days as a KPP are almost over, sue to his lack of agility, but his sherr size and...

Re: Who would you trade?

If fit and it's a big IF, I would keep Carlisle, Hannebery, Geary and Frawley as all are still good enough to play at AFL level. Ross, Dunstan, Billings et all are all tradeable, with Billings worth a 2nd rounder, Dunstan a 3rd and Ross a 4th. Lonie, Kent, McKernan and Hunter must be delisted and Ro...
