Re: Plugger Lockett Fans
That was well worth the 3 hours viewing this evening. Some vintage plugger footage bringing back many memories. A few news articles I’d never seen before!

Re: 2 and 4
I’m optimistic we will be far more competitive next season. At this point it is too hard to predict a win/loss tally for the first six rounds. It was less than two years ago we belted Hawthorn by 75 points in Launceston admittedly with Roo still running around. Late last season we lost to them by 4 ...

Re: Hannebury Hurts Sometimes.....
I wouldn’t be too concerned at this point. Tony Lockett crossed to Sydney at 29 after 2 injury and suspension interrupted seasons with us and he turned out to be pretty useful there. I’m not too fussed if we get just a serviceable player. Having him out there will allow others more of a chance to ge...

Re: D!cks in our hands....
What do people expect, we play on the car park in front of 20,000 style crowds on a weekly basis, currently near the bottom with terrible player development & a vanilla coach in Mr 33%. I’d imagine we were quite aggressive and offered large sums of money to all of the premium types. Apart from m...

Re: Big Boy McEVOY.
I think the big issue we had at the time with McEvoy was that we were about to head into a rebuild and he’d be a free agent a year later and in demand by a team such as Hawthorn. They would have then dangled the big carrot of becoming a premiership ruckman on good coin. The alternative is to remain ...

Re: Is Billings our Fiora?
Something hasn’t been right with Billings all year. I know he did a hammy around Feb, he has no power or depth in his kicking. My guess is he is playing with a leg injury possibly OP. Cannot kick the ball 50m at the moment, has no power at all in a running sense. He was close to All Australian last ...

Re: 6 tackles tonight for Newnes
I believe Newnes may have had shoulder surgery around Christmas time hence his lack of tackles this year. He has had no strength in it and hasn’t been able to stick a tackle. His worst is better than a lot of our 2nds player best and that’s why he keeps getting a game. I’d say it is starting to impr...

Re: Paddy
I’ll reserve judgement on Paddy. He has been underwhelming mainly due to concussion issues. The Hawks game in Launceston stands out for me in his 2nd year. The ability is there, looks fit during the week but for some reason on game day he looks like the Michelin Man. Wasn’t great yesterday at all bu...

Re: Ben Long
I like Ben Long, plenty of upside for a young man playing his 5th or so game. Lovely kick across the ground in the 3rd quarter that hit Membrey on the tit without breaking stride. Unlike a lot of blokes in our side he put the ball out in front for Membrey to lead onto. I’ll make a big call, in a few...

Re: Why not Rocky, Lever, Kelly and Whitfield?
Whitfield is an interesting prospect. I'd be most keen on him coming to the club. We wouldn't need to sell the farm to get him, he grew up on the peninsula so he is local and he is apparently mates with a few on our list. Whilst being signed up to GWS for 2018 he wouldn't be the first player to want...

Re: Ablett ruled OUT
Very bad news for Ablett. First off we need to win but just as importantly gain %. I'm sick of the 3-4 goal wins as well. So many games in recent times we have posted a solid lead and either let some junk goals through like the North Melbourne game or even worse start lairising with the ball and let...

Re: Mc Cartin ITK feedback on his diabetes problems
I also have a small background in strength and conditioning, that is a fair assessment on the issues facing Paddy. I believe it wii be an ongoing challenge but can be managed. He can play elite football with a similar build to Jeremy McGovern. Pre season training each year will be vital. I think bac...

Re: Longer - say it loud and proud
I'm not a Longer fan at all. When he does somehow end up with the ball the opposition know that he is going to handball to a nearby midfielder behind and immediately set up for it. I believe the bulldogs left Longer on his own as they were very likely to get the ball back if he is disposing it via h...

Re: Craig Davenport, is his club legacy the best of all time
I stand corrected. It was Mark Browning who hit him. That would be right about the 11 goals.Selhurst Saint wrote:In his first reserves game he kicked 11 goals on Mark Browning in Sydney. I also believe he actually stood out of football as a junior because he wasn't zoned to St.Kilda but wanted to play for us.

Re: Craig Davenport, is his club legacy the best of all time
According to my old man he had his jaw smashed to pieces by a Sydney player (Rod Carter or Bolton) in the reserves when he was young and was never the same. He was certainly a talent and a lovely kick for goal, kicked the winner "Craven's on his own in the goal square" after the Ken Sheldo...

"I like Daniel McKenzie"
I Drove home tonight feeling absolutely flat after watching us go backwards and sideways with no system or risk for 2 hours today. Why bother having goals up at Seaford. Nobody wants to back themselves when within range and our game plan right now appears to be do not go anywhere near the centre squ...

I'm with apples on this one. Staggering that the same umpires could be assigned a saints game together again. I hope the supporters give them a warm reception when they come out onto the ground.

Re: What's the ceiling for Seb Ross?
Armo worries me a little. He has been one of my favourites and an absolute warrior for the team. He is 28 and never been blessed with pace. Due to his hardness over the years he has had a lot of collision injuries. He could go quickly 31-32 like Stephen Powell, Luke Ball etc. I see a role for him ne...

Re: Proven again tonight!!!!!
I think the thing that people don't understand is due to all the academy picks, Franklin/Tippett type recruits etc they know every year they are quite likely to have struck gold with high picks. This puts them in an almost no lose situation to take lots of risk with latter picks. They can keep churn...

Re: Where were we, Sainters? Disappointing crowd.
I was trying to work out why are attendances are so low. I've been going for nearly 30 years and have attended most games this season. The trains are absolutely a reason especially when it's live on channel 7. Last night was the first time I've thought why bother. Our players and club in general are...

Absolutely love this bloke, not the most talented player on our list but he is so passionate about our club and his footy. A bomber supporting mate of mine views him as an integral part of our club and says he is a bit of a barometer. When Mav plays well we generally do. He is one of those guys that...

Re: Anyone at the game see this?
I did see this happen. It was half time outside aisle 35 bottom concourse. I was with the old man and a mate having a conversation about how woeful we were playing and out of the corner of my eye I saw the paramedics about 5 metres away, assumed someone was having a medical issue as I could see a wh...
