Re: Team v Bombers

Last week, the backline took a hammering and yet Lee still can't get in. He must be becoming disenchanted and with good reason.

Yes, exactly! Why play football in the tropics?!!! Brisbane is at least in the sub-tropics. What would any team gain by playing in Mackay, for heavens' sake!

Re: Tuesday

I dont know why the saints and the lions didnt get together and just organize a practice match between themselves for Monday, They were already there and its only 1 1/2 hours drive from Mackay to Brisbane. It's over 500 miles! It may be 1 1/2 hours drive in a helicopter, but most people drive cars....

Re: Paddy's endurance

He is not the next Hudson, he is the first Mc. Cartin. What Paddy can do however is when the situation arises he seems able to manoeuvre his arse/body to gain the advantage over the opposition. I don't believe you can teach this skill, it's a gift that the great one on one players have. Hudson came...

Ok I will admit I don't know much about hurling , but what attributes does a hurler have that might translate to AFL ? General athleticism. No ringing endorsement but the O'hailpin brothers were recruited from hurling.... So maybe kicking a Cloke? Yep, if we can find a way to convert arse kicking i...

Great news and Mav's in the leadership group anyway. Says a lot about Bains, our recruitment and Richardson (all positive!), all at the same time. I'm a happy bunny.

Geary is a great ball getter. Very happy that we have secured him for the next few years. In my opinion, he would be a very dangerous player playing for Hawthorn, in a final, against us!

put it this way;

They won't need a very big bulldozer !!
Perhaps they could have one last disco, that ought to finish it right off
Yeah, we could invite Tony Lockett and Rick Watt.

Re: She's still around....

Whilst Nixon is a silly clown, I think he is a better person than Ms Duthie (and that's saying something). I very much doubt that. I would put him more in the rounds of a child molester. The police recommended he be charged but the powers who decide these things never proceeded I can't imagine why ...

Re: A harsh truth about the Saints best backline

Personally I think Max Hudghton was a physically stronger player then Penny and often took on the biggest forward,Max took all comers before the penny dropped. ( corny I know) I think Max was only 1 cm shorter than Luke, but they did make a good duo. We could do with a mobile marking back man parti...

Re: Happy Birthday Cuz

Have a great birthday Nicky. Easily one of my all -time favourate Sainters. I was lucky enough to witness a decent swag of Nickys' memorable marks through the 90s. Still remember the spontaneous roar of 'Niickeeey" when Nicky soared out of nowhere to clunk yet another spectacular mark. During ...

Yes, like Dr Spacemen and Elizabethr, I remember Billy Miller as lead singer and lead guitar of The Ferrets. Would almost have to be the same guy, as he was a huge Saints fan! Nice guy - had time for his fans, even when big.

I can't see that this is good news, after the way we have been super fit, running out last quarters and have had fewer hamstring problems. Also, "expert" and "Richmond" don't belong in the same sentence. So the guy who we got from the Tigers is responsible for 30 years of ordina...

I'm inclined to agree with you, Linton Lodger - I think the all too conservative and overly-cautious decision to skip on Cousins cost us a premiership. And yes, you are right - Hawthorn gave Gary Ablett the flick and kept his older brother.
