Re: Saints who were great or could have been great in other sports

We had an Under 19's player (as the thirds were, still in the 80's) called Shane Warne. He could have been quite a handy cricketer.

Re: I want my money back

Yeah, you're right - we probably shouldn't eat humans. That's really good by you. Er......, I'd like to think that my avoidance of human meat is actually universal amongst forum members and that by these words, you're not elevating me above those posters who do commonly eat people! You're a funny b...

..with best-of-three GF. Please, please, pretty please, do not let this circus be an official AFL season with a real flag winner.. I am all for the fun and entertainment and re-couping some desperately needed cash - sounds great, but if they try to make it a legit season with a legit premiership it...

Yeah but how good is Bontempelli? He was great in the middle in the last 10 minutes of that quarter winning some hard balls and forcing the turnover. I don't care what anyone says, he should have been a Saints player instead of Billings. Poles apart in talent and hardness.....would have been captai...

Re: Max King and Round 1

Why would you think anything anyone writes on an internet footy forum would upset any member? I find your personal references a bit odd to be honest, but I am not offended. Thinking back the last forum member I read that got very upset was a person who went under the nic of Cairnsman who went nuts a...

Re: Max King and Round 1

as I said in another thread, he is really good at everything but kicking at goal. He is laying tackles, taking leads, bringing the ball to ground running back to help out in defence but my god can he shank them. One out on the full while not that far out in the first half and a shot late in the gam...

Perhaps with the increased mod depth , Savage could be the guy to get less attention and get off the leash Yeah, he's going to want to Shout to the Top - it's no good him Going Underground. Otherwise he'll just get treated like a guy from A Town Called Malice. Let's hope he gets on the Magic Bus. A...

Re: Hill ready to take his game to a new level

Thanks Saynta - interesting article. It is really encouraging that someone who is already a gun footballer, is still motivated to reach further. Also exciting to see that Hill, already promoted to the leadership group, is helping mentor Long (who could realistically become an explosive gun footballe...

Re: The Elephant In The Room

Well you know what they say... stats lie and people that use stats are liars. Forgive me if I misread the goals one... only glanced at them because I didn’t see the point. It’s a very warped view IMO when you need numbers to demonstrate a point for you and it’s usually to confuse the issue. It’s AF...

Re: The Elephant In The Room

The challenge with McCartin is that in addition to some fairly significant injury concerns... he hasn’t exactly showed the form. After several years: - marking was getting worse - kicking was getting worse - fitness didn’t seem to improve He’s not like a super promising youngster that stalled with ...

And for all of those naysayers who thought it was crazy to recruit Paddy Ryder. Very early days, but he looks fit and hungry and seems to have a new lease of life playing for the Saints. If he can find, even some of the form that made him All Australian, watch out. Chief protagonist naysayer here. ...

Firstly, The King...he was played a bit deep and struggled to get into the marking contest. This takes increased size and experience, but he never stopped giving effort which eventuated in him kicking a goal from receiving a free kick in the contest. I was getting worried the coach would leave him ...

Stats have been... and will ALWAYS be the lazy way to cast votes for bog I'd rather a guy who can take 1 contested mark per quarter or kick 2-3 clutch goals per game than a guy who picks up 30 possessions and 15-20 of those are handball receives Sebby deserves credit for his consistency. I wasn’t happy with my long kicking. Last year I tended to kick it off my knee or shin a little bit because I’m just trying to boot the cover off it,” the Saints midfielder said. St Kilda supporters at the end of 2019 witnessed the emergence of Clark and Coffield (until he unfortunately did his shoulder) We all trust that the emergence of these 2 players continues - and serves the Club well Then we add Long But more than names, what I am attracted to is the language used by...
