Re: Jono Marsh

huh? ease up. His first year back in AFL. He looked good with ball. Lets just see what happens this year. I like him I agree. I know that the WAFL midfield doesn't compare directly with the standard required of the AFL - but give him a full AFL preseason and some good midfield players around him an...

Re: Bennell

Avoid. Bad influence for Hanners. Both of them may end up falling down some stairs together. Nope, different club, different people around him, he is more mature, he knows that it is last chance saloon, etc etc etc. Must push as hard as possible. Would be such a bonus if he comes good and no great ...

Re: Paddy to be delisted

I remember all of the calls on here for us to draft Petracca at that time but I agree that both Petracca and Brayshaw have been disappointing.

Has anybody looked at the AFL playing records of the others in that draft to see who actually turned out to be the best of that year?

I reckon taking Bennell is a no-brainer. His body is close to right (if not completely OK) and he would have a good stable atmosphere around him at the Saints.

Re: Jono Marsh

The challenge is how fit can he get ? I would like to see him take Acres spot as the big bodied kind of random mid. He has done it at WAFL Is bigger, stronger and maybe faster than Acres - seems to play in a kind of random manner - not sure he will be quite to Acres levels of randomness though hope...

No compensation because we delisted him
What do you mean? Delisting him IS the compensation
Now that is harsh. Funny, but harsh.

Does this mean that the club now has finished all of the delistings that they need before the draft? Does anybody know that final list lodgement date? Cheers

Very pleased about that. I think that he still has a lot to offer. Maybe even more off-field than on-field.

Has there been any whisper that the delisting was so that he could be transferred to the rookie list?

Any whispers on Marshall's knee??

It looked so bad at the time that I can't believe that there wasn't at least a minor injury. You might say "ahh yes but he came back on" but I remember Lenny Hayes coming back on and playing out about 2 or 3 quarters after he had done his ACL. I sooooooo much want to be wrong but I'm suspi...

Cousins was actually a likeable bloke with a drug problem Bennell is a d***head All young people make mistakes. Substance abuse and alcahol turns a lot of good blokes into dickheads. Heard Tim Gossage talking about Harley on SEN this week. He says he's followed his story and says he is desperate to...

GT helped Lyon. Those players were good little GT Boy Scouts turning into GTMarines by the time Lyon got them, I think it got technical in ‘07 and slowed down the mojo, then good to go like a rocket. Penny was a mystery to my interest was patchy. Why did he go so early? He was a really big loss for...

Hind to debut then
I'll jump in and make an out-there statement: given that we need maturity and leadership in the backline, why not play Armo as a short-term, sort of like-for-like replacement for Gears?????

Re: Why Austin Logan not playing in the JLT?

Yep, my thoughts too. I understood that he was a targeted recruit specially for "insurance" backup for KP defenders. So, either the recruiters mis-read his talent or the unexpected development of Joyce and Battle has leap-frogged Austin. Has anybody been watching training closely enough to...

Certainly seems worth a serious look and deserves another opportunity. The problem is that both Carlton and GC will get first choice...

Whoever we pick isn’t going to be perfect otherwise they would still be on their original clubs list. I think the top three areas that people compla...

The most interesting comment to take from that article (that otherwise is mainly the usual pre-season spin) is from Ratten commenting about his role at the club: "I've been given more responsibility at the Saints, which is what I was looking for, and really pleased to be there." The whole ...
