Re: Team vs Dogs
Our vanilla selectors made the easy decision in Jones, got a lot of it at Sandy and might do that this week but will probably also be high on turnovers. Butler lucky to be still there also Sharman they are probably lucky that Max and Collard are injured but hopefully if the same players have a bad g...

Re: VS WB
Will be a hard game to win even if King was in the dogs have a superior forward line and midfield where as our defence is a little stronger all this points to a loss but anything is possible.

Re: Trade King
2x first round picks being bandied around people must be thinking of Ben King not Max be lucky to get a late first rounder for a sook that can’t kick.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024
Should make changes but doubt we will. King would not be missed and dropping Butler and Sharman would only improve the side. Not much on offer at Sandy with Hayes and Collard not getting much of it and Howard underdone. Jones got a lot of it but do we need another ball butcher, we already have Byrne...

Re: Match Thread vs Richmond
Bank the four points but learn from it and make some changes. Keeler or Heath for Caminiti, Windy for Jones, Garcia for Byrnes and Collard for Butler. Hastie needs game time probably at Sandy giving Jones a reprieve as the sub where he may have some impact later in a game. Not a lot of other options...

Going to the mid season draft is not an option as we have a full list, would need a retirement or LTI knowing our luck with injuries the latter is a real possibility

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
King for Caminiti and Garcia for Windy assuming suspension is not overturned. Collard, Keeler, Heath, Hayes and Campbell all looked solid for Sandy. Will also be nice to see what Dow and Clarke can bring to our under performing midfield when fit.

Last train leaves Geelong South at 10:48pm, so you would need to leave the ground by 10:30pm with the team we are likely to f8eld you will probably be happy to do so

Webster a bit hard done by, Higgins and Cordy a bit overrated and I don’t know how they can rate the new recruits this early

The answer is no, doesn’t have the pace for today’s game, will likely be replaced by Henry or Collard.

Re: SEN listeners don’t rate us 📻
Last season we lacked pace, skill and height. We seem to have addressed the lack of pace and to a lesser extent the skill may improve but we still lack a couple of quality talls that said I would expect a slight improvement but other teams may improve more so we could struggle to play finals

Got to be happy with the deal, one side can only have so many headless chooks and we still have Byrnes and Jones

Re: 2023 trade period
Lots of action from some smart operators but we are yet to fire a shot, possibly because we don’t have the smart operators. Early days but imagine we will lose Gresham, Coffield, Billings and McKenzie (all injury or overrated) for little or no return then pay overs for Henry and maybe take a chance ...

Re: Our Bobby Hill
Can’t compare any of Higgins, Butler or Greah to Bobby Hill they are not in the same class, our closest could be NWM if he moved forward has the skill and pace to develop into a very damaging small forward but would be sadly missed down back

Who cares where Ben goes, we have the better King but both are injury prone and miss a lot of easy goals.

Teflon suggested we looked slow fact is we are slow need to recruit players with outside run and good disposal, Liam Henry maybe a good start but one swallow doesn’t make a summer

Probably only NWM and Sincs ahead of him but Sincs will likely move into midfield and NWM to the wing so Coff is a keeper who offers something a bit different.

Re: Final V GWS Friday night (Sportsbet said) but now Saturday 3.20pm
Probably the worst outcome for us, playing a quick team on the wide open spaces of the MCG will highlight our lack of pace. I would have taken the Swans on the SCG every day of the week

Will be tough against GWS, would have preferred Swans at SCG smaller ground may have helped with our lack of leg speed.

On today’s performance at Sandy Jack Hayes could be a better option to either. With Ross injured and Pou off the pace could be a chance for both Hayes and Billings against the Lions and then go from 5here

Effort is there but has there ever been a team with so many ball butchers. Game still in the balance but should have been done and dusted
