Re: Is Roo done?
His best is, for sure, behind him. But I doubt he's done just yet. Last week took some great contested marks and has had an average output this season, with one of the best games of his career at the end of last.
Nothing lasts forever. I'm loving watching him winning games again though.

Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
Forward efficiency is woeful. We either come back out and turn it over in the middle of the ground or put it straight down the throat of their defenders.

Never seems to have enough space Billings. When he does he can use it well but most of the time there's 1 or 2 opponents right on him so has to resort to a quick handball backwards.

3 goals as a small forward in a losing side. Plenty worse than him tonight, and another excellent goal. Reminds me so much of #44.

Fixture in your phone!
Just a friendly reminder that anyone who uses a cloud based calendar can import the entire St Kilda fixture for 2017 from here:
http://icalshare.com/calendars/7607
Just copy that ICS link and use it in Google/iCal/any other app that recognizes .ics files.

How worried should the Blues be? ONE thing was very clear at Ikon Park on Saturday. St Kilda and Carlton are heading in vastly different directions. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/st-kilda/st-kilda-continues-positive-preseason-with-big-win-over-carlton-in-jlt-series/news-story/6b16619c...

He kicked 4 didn't he? He did look impressive. Accurate set shot and that quick fake and goal was surprising.

It is very strange that Hawkins' goal in 09 forced the AFL to bring in a review system, and then the draw in 2010 was the last one we'll ever see.

Don't have a problem with 4 rucks on the list to be honest. Not sure what the issue is - our depth is impressive and having four rucks just adds to the fact. I know Richo hasn't played multiple rucks very often, but when he has it has worked very well. Carlton this year (Hickey, Pierce), Draw with C...

Re: Discipline fell apart in second half
I kind of wanted them to start deliberately giving away 50s in protest. Anyway, just wanted to say that I really likes Acres' game. Actually to be honest I would say he played a better game than the Melbourne one. And I had been a little harsh on him previously, but he impressed me today. Gresham an...

Re: All about Geelong
Damian Barrett on Sunday Footy Show went on about the "non free" to Hawkins then briefly mentions that on closer inspection he tripped over his own feet. Then why go on about a non free, you fool? Also failed to even mention or show any footage of Gresham's clutch goal.

Re: The last 2min
The first instance of this was Membrey going down the line instead of keeping possession. Were there simply no options behind the play? With the tiniest bit of luck Geelong were set to steal the game, and we rarely come off in those situations. Was very nearly another honorable loss.

Re: Billy Longer @ Full Back
You wouldda thought, but clubs can be a bit slow to rethink (although Weller and Bruce suggest Richardson is better at it than others). I'm not sure I agree with the 'not smart' tag. I'd like to see them try it. I don't mean that in an offensive way. If he can somehow pull it off that would be swee...

Re: Billy Longer @ Full Back
Not sure if he has been played at full back in his past, but if it was going to work at all I think someone would know about it by now and maybe tried him there before. In any case, I don't think too many teams have a FF that Bill could match up on well. He hasn't striked me as being a 'smart' footb...

Don't exactly remember him playing a bad game at AFL level but he must have given how little games he has been given and the general lack support from fans.

Well done to both Hickey and Pierce today. Especially since they were both able to hit the scoreboard, and even combined for a great goal. Hickey will be very damaging for us for a long time.

With Paddy out would it be worth trying Hickey forward?
If his form in the ruck this year can carry over to the forward line, he could be a good target to have up there. We haven't been interested in playing 2 rucks this year but at least one of them can now fill a role in the forward line. Holmes/Pierce then get a go at AFL level which I'd be keen to see.

Re: THE eternal stkilda problem of poor disposals
Already explained why I singled him out. Nothing against him personally, I just want a good team who hit targets consistently. He won't be here as long as all those other players, and he's had long enough to work that side of his game out. If we want to build a premiership side, let's get players th...

Re: THE eternal stkilda problem of poor disposals
This post is 100% spot on. Even Billings had an off day today, but we must part ways with players like Geary. The sooner the better. A good team simply needs good users of the ball. It's all well and good when Geary can stop dangerous smalls, but it's obviously pointless if he hands it straight bac...
