I'm glad someone else raised the 1995 game against Carlton at Waverley where at one stage it looked like the Blues would only kick one goal for the game...they ended up with 3 but we well and truly pulled their pants down that day. It was one of only 2 losses the Blues had for the whole season. I lo...

I don't mind the 2011 home strip - it's certainly different with the black piping- but as someone else stated- it makes the strip overall look more menacing. That's got to be a good thing. As for the away strip, well I agree with Barks4Eva, that I thought the Board would have learnt something from t...

Surely the club has more sense than to consider Hahn. I think this would be a regressive move.

TMueller, I appreciate your two posts on this issue. Re your first post, I guess the differences between the two guernseys you've shown is so subtle that most of us would not have detected it, whereas others mentioned here have been oh so in your face. But your example merely strengthens the argumen...

St Lenny wrote: "I think you need to learn your facts before you write about this. St Kilda chose to wear the Hot Cross Bun jumper for the 97 GF." Yes, St Lenny, you are correct but the crucial point you have ommitted is that the Board did not consult its members as to whether they wanted ...

Club needs to be held to account re guernsey

I just responded to an earlier post regarding away guerneys for 2011 onwards. But I want to open up the matter further. Yes, I am not happy with the 'liquid paper Saints jumper' worn this year and regrettably in this year's Grand Finals. However, it's part of a greater malaise within the club. That ...

The issue of our guernsey has been a bugbear of mine for years. The club - I regret to say- has a history of ushering in new guernseys without consulting its members and yet in the St K F C constitution it clearly states that 75% approval from members needs to be achieved in order to tamper with the...

Hey Finna you're not alone with regards to tardy response from Scott F. He promises to call but never does. You send him e-mails and he doesn't respond. The club has just recruited a new female worker from Fremantle to help out and maybe she'll be more efficient than Scott F.

Grant Thomas worked hard to emphasise that many players can lead by example on the ground. I say stick with Roo- that guy is so committed to the cause and his dedication & professionalism is second only to Banger. BJ and Lenny - just by being who they are- will inspire by their actions as well. ...

I know it's negative to agree with LennyLegend and others re this post, but I do. He simply does not offer enough and, at the highest level of footy, probably never will. The fact that he's already been delisted in his career suggests that he was (and probably still is) on the cusp of AFL-VFL standa...

It makes sense to me, Calais. The only other example I can think of is back during World War 1 when St Kilda F C felt so uncomfortable about having colours that were the same as the German national flag, that they changed the colours to red, yellow and black in line with our then ally, Belgium. Asso...

Goddard - our version of Jack Riewoldt?

All this talk of Kosi and where he is best suited, got me thinking of BJ. Why not play him predominantly at FF? He could easily become our version of Jack Riewoldt. He's got all the attributes that Jack has and probably more. He's quick, got brute strength, a great leap, good pair of hands and with ...

Truly, what did you expect Bono? It's a multi-million dollar business and as we all know too well- money talks. Just ask Gary Ablett Jnr. Most of the players did not barrack for the Saints as kids (eg Harvey followed Essendon). Of the current crop, I only know of Gram, Raphael Clarke and Tom Lynch w...

Totally agree with you sainter 27. McQualter is the luckiest player to consistently get chosen: he's indecisive, makes too many unforced errors, is an inaccurate kick at goal (that's on those rare occasions he actually gets a shot a goal), and simply never stamps himself upon a game. Tackling is his...

Peake has 'pace to burn'? Really? How often have we seen him deliver those 'break the lines' runs this year? His disposal by foot is ordinary, too. Granted his game against Geelong in the QF was his best for the club where he actually took a couple of contested grabs but if he represents the future ...

I think Eddy will retain his spot...he was ferocious at the contest. The one who concerns me is Mc Qualter...I would much rather have Jack Steven or Geary in the side than him. Mini is indecisive, makes unforced errors and is inaccurate in front of goal. Tonight, he was conspicuous by his absence.
