Re: 46 inside 50’s vs Geelong AND Footscray!
Nick Riewoldt said in the Foxtel commentary that the forwards seem to have been instructed to stay in the forward half. You would probably need to have been at the ground to see if there was any real difference but on the TV it seemed we have a more open game rather than the Under 10s Roaming Pack s...

Re: Match Thread Maddie's Match Saints v Tigers 2019
At level 1 I saw a player with the ball on the wing, another was well free and alone at half forward but the bloke with the ball didn’t see him. Why? Because he only looked sideways. He did not even look ahead. This is stupid, robotic over coaching devoted to destroying flair and attack for the sake...

Re: Classic moment: Saints V Hawks
By coincidence I drifted over here straight after the Footy Almanac, which included a report on the opening round WAFL . Apparently Clint Jones dominated ( as he has since going back ) and I thought we got rid of him too early. His kicking was awkward but often effective, and he could certainly find...

( this should not be so unique and refreshing for a supposed “ fan” forum)
And more joy is that all new players acquitted themselves very well indeed.

Re: Jack Lonie - How good can he be?
If anyone is watching the practice match this afternoon, look at how many times he knocks the ball out of another player’s hands- he did it a lot last week, it’s quick and very clever and more effective for a turnover than most tackles

Re: Those Moronic NAB Advertisements
There were quite a few underwhelming performers honoured in the Retirements segment in the Brownlow but not Sam Gilbert ( although Koby Stevens was in). Maybe it’s another example of our irrelevance, or maybe the poor , afterthought way it was handled made him miss the cut.

Polek should be our kicking coach- two kicks lace out to us. No StK player has done that for three years

Where has Webster gone?in the first quarter he and Robbie Gray played an old fashioned duel- with huge respect and sportsmanship both sides. Have the anti- football coaches put an end to it?

Re: "The Noise Of Affirmation"
As a very neutral observer( I dislike both) I went to Port v Hawthorn in Launceston today. Port got absolutely shafted by the umpires , to a disgusting extent 12 50s to 1 apparently and many gift goals to Hawtorn and robberies of Port. Home team umpiring at its worst.

Re: Milney in today's Age
Milney was great and wouldn’t we love to have him in now, but let’s not forget he was a very unreliable set shot for goal and had little distance in his kicks. We need a combination of a Peter Hudson who got Stevie Lowe to kick serviceably , a sport scientist or movement buff for the mechanics ( alt...

I’m looking at Geelong at the moment with Tom Stewart and Tim Kelly- blokes playing senior football outside the AFL before being drafted after being overlooked several times. I think the last one of that type we drafted was Tom Lee and that didn’t work out well, but with our high draft picks of rece...

I really don’t get the feeling against Wright here. He never gives less thatn 100% and when played in the forward pocket usually snags one or two goals. In the backline his kicks spray but when forward he is great value .

Re: Confusion moving the ball into the fwd line
We persist in the useless ploy of getting stuck on the wing going forward, so kicking it backwards, then two little kicks across ground then back to just as far out as when we started but on the other side. Meanwhile the opposition have strolled in to clog up our forward line. It is so utterly predi...

Re: Finals discussion thread
What about Sydney's kicking for goal? I can only think their technique and composure kicking for goal is so far above our efforts the comparison is embarrassing. I think I read recently Buddy has had three goal kicking teachers including Plugger . Do we have any? Do we practice and train this? It do...

Let's not forget Watters' absolutely low disrespectful act of putting Kossie in the hated green vest as sub for his last game. Great way to treat a real warrior of the club. Not.

Goalkicking coach
Why don't we get a goalkicking coach? And a sports psychologist to help them? Or, if we have them, why haven't they been sacked three months ago and replaced by someone who has the faintest idea of how to teach these highly paid professional footballers how to reliably kick, say, a set shot from thir...

You relentlessly negative carping knockers on this site, now you're basking in it as if you wanted to win rather than be proven right. Have a look back over your posts and be ashamed.

Back to footy and to point.....we also had Dale Kickett ,but unfortunately he didn't do much for us. He was a transformed player at Freo ,no idea why.

Just an observation from someone who was at the game on Saturday and later watched the replay ( tragic I know but they are actually different experiences and views) . Unlike Big Mart I'm not sick of the Bont because he seems genuinely not a big head. I am sick of the media's love child Murphy and his "aw shucks" false humility. If just once today he deflected the spotlight he sought out towards those who actually won it and away from himself all this gu...
