so did i understand what sports tonight said? 1 hr before hand the first 10 are chosen. Then everyone enters the room and choose the first 10 out loud from 10 to 1. After that is done does it go 10-1 and then 11 onwards? I dont understand who thought this would be a good idea. The first 7 or so pic...

Re: So, who is going to watch the draft?

Anyone tuning in? Given that it's the first television draft, I am a little curious, will Luke be there as well and will we see his reaction? I'll be watching and watched last years online and it was very interesting. I don't think Ball will be there, it seems like they usually invite 10-20 top dra...

Interesting.....Clarke is a classy outside forward/midfielder, who has the ability to win a game off his own boot. So where have we been playing him? I actually think he'd be good as a forward he seemed to go alright in the final against Collingwood and there wouldn't be the pressure their is in de...

Its interesting reading burgaton's previous phantom drafts. They generally seem pretty accurate for the first round but i guess after that it really becomes a lottery.

And his 01 draft has us taking judd at 2, hodge at 5 and Stevie J at 21. :D

I wouldnt mind getting those players. Burgan seems to know what he's talking about he predicted we'd take lynch last year. I would have thought Ball wouldnt last to collingwood at 30 with melbourne, essendon & the lions all keen.

Simpkin does look good, however, he is just as much use to us on the rookie list (outside the salary cap) as he is on the list, as i would assume there is a very slim chance of him getting a game this year. By upgrading him, we would effectively be giving up a late ND selection for a late rookie se...

While he is a tall forward he is not a key position player like roo and kosi from what i have seen. Nothing 2 years in the gym and some protein shakes cant fix :D Okay even if he does become a great key position forward he is basically the only kpf on our list at the moment with the retirement of A...

wouldnt we want to get a KPF like Temel or Astbury since we virtually have no tall forwards after roo and kosi? whats tom lynch? chop liver? He's more of a medium forward like an Aaron Hamill in my opinion. Hamill played tall cos he was such a tank. But if you look at the facts. I think I'm correct...

As above around pick 20. Collingwood seems to rate their own picks & players extremely high. I still believe Jolly was an absolute steal at picks 14 & 46 considering he is alot better than he was when the swans picked him up for pick 15.

I agree there are other reasons for our forward inefficiency in the finals. and we all know Kosi could have played better and held a couple of marks - but he's a key tall and was needed for the sake of structure. So again i ask do we need 3 small forwards in our forward line ? - especially in tough...

Re: Next finals - lessons our selectors hopefully have le

We shouldn't be blaming any particular small forward -it's just that 3 small forwards don't work in the high pressure finals games. That became crystal clear this year. Small forwards find the finals tough going - you don't exacerbate the problem by taking 3 small forwards - that's a no no ! 3 smal...
