Loving seeing Max back in there and doing what he's done so well, for so long. 17 possies and 6 marks, to Fev's 9 and 3 and just 2 goals (one a gift from Luke Ball) says it all. I just hope they give the jobs on most of the really tall guys to Zac, leaving Max for the more medium sized blokes. Maybe...

I'm liking what I'm seeing from Big Mac, especially how safe he looks overhead. He seems to have very big hands, as he marks so well. He and Stanley will hopefully be a great combo in the ruck for the next 12 years.

Agree wholeheartedly with a lot of these comments. It felt like what it must be like to go to a game interstate. I reckon they might have had almost twice the amount of support there that we had. We were on the top level and I felt like I was the only Saint supporter making any noise in our area (ex...

Loving Zac's year so far. He could easily still be playing at full back, but I'm very happy to see Max back there as well. This year can hopefully be a great learning experience for Zac, playing different roles and positions, until he takes over permanently at full back. He looks to have all the att...

Hopefully it won't matter as the ball will be up the other end for most of the night. Hopefully our guys will really come to play this week, like in most matches early in the year. We haven't seen it for anywhere near a whole game since we played Collingwood. It would be great to see it for four qua...

And the reason I wouldn't leave our best ruckman back is because that's just being stupid. Putting someone with a heap of ability into the forward line, when there are plenty of guys to cover his absence down back, is hardly stupid.

We missed Yapper badly on the weekend, but I hope they don't rush him back. If 2 more weeks off (with the split round meaning we don't play next week) helps his knee considerably, then I hope they leave him out. We want him cherry ripe for later in the year. Many are tipping Sammy Gilbert for All Au...

Goose kicking 5 goals two weeks in a row and getting named BOG hardly sounds like he's out of form (and the next week he apparently kept Scott Lucas goalless, and he then kicked 4 yesterday for Essendon). Playing CHF is harder than CHB which is why I reckon he was cherry ripe to come back in to CHB ...

Maybe we could all write to Etihad and tell them we'll boycot their airline and ask all our friends/family to as well, as a result of this and how they're treating our clubs (and the fans- by putting up some of the reserved seat prices). That might get their attention. These guys rock. What a crock ...

This is the perfect opportunity to play either Sam Fisher, or Sam Gilbert on the half forward flank, in the role Sammy Hamill and James Hird used to play. Either one of them, or Brendan Goddard. With Kosi and Nick playing deep forward, we have a clear marking weakness across HF. All those first 3 ar...

Zac has done a brilliant job this year, so I don't expect he's going anywhere and I don't expect Max will be either. Only those with very short memories would suggest Max can only play at full-back, as he used to play on guys as short and fast as Phil Matera and Jeff Farmer, etc. He's not as big as ...

I was really impressed with how he attacked the ball (or man with it) all day. He played like he knew he'd be out next week if he didn't have a big one. Deserves to keep his spot for next week. I still reckon he plays his best footy on the wing, though and I'd still rather see Gilbert, Sam Fisher, o...

It seems like treason to drop Bakes, but the game seems like it might have passed him by. In the modern game he's probably only suited to the on-ball tagging role and Jones is doing that brilliantly now, so there's not much of a role for him (unless he's tagging guys out of the game down back, that ...

This is the problem with the whole system. It's a guess as to what's "acceptable" or not. He could get anything from nothing, to weeks. It's like a lottery. I'm not that fussed if he goes though, as Gardi has clearly been better this year and I reckon Big Mac has had almost as much impact ...

It's time to get serious and pick our best team. So you think we've been picking our second best team? I'd love to see Mat & Max running around in the colours as well but is this just being romantic? Hey PJ, no, I don't believe we've been picking our very best team. I believe they've been tryin...

IN- MAX, GOOSE, MILNE OUT- GARDINER, RAPH, GWILT/McQALTER Max and Goose down back, Blake helping out in the ruck, Sam Gilbert, Sam Fisher, or Brendan Goddard to play the lead-up half forward role Gwilt has been playing (and that Charlie Gardiner played last year). We need more marking strength ther...

If they have Hawkins, Mooney and Johnson, then: Goose on Hawkins, Zac on Mooney and Max on Johnson. Either Sam Gilbert, or Sam Fisher across half forward/leading up to the wings, to allow Nick and Kosi to stay deep forward, as Buddy and Roughead did for Hawthorn last year.

The one thing we don't want to do is put Kosi back into the ruck. Leave him on the forward line, he is playing well at the moment and is putting opposition backmen under great pressure with his attack on the ball in marking situations, often spreading the packs open for our smaller goalsneaks. Got ...

Goose as a ruckman?   PLEEEEZ How long have you been around? Where do you think Goose started his senior career playing for St Kilda? He came in and played ruck for a year or so (in about 2003), and then moved to CHB. I'm not suggesting he's ideal in that position, far from it, but ...

If they don't have the guts to bring Goose in to play at CHB (and put Blake in the ruck, to replace Gardi), I sincerely hope they bring him in to play in the ruck (if McEvoy doesn't come up). The wait has been long enough. It's getting ridiculous. Unless he's much worse than he used to be, Goose is ...

I most certainly wouldn't remove Zac from full back, as I reckon he's been going almost as well as Max ever has down there, but this is the ideal time to put Max back in the pocket, on the smaller guys he's always been ideally and best suited to. I would bring him in as soon as he's ready, no doubt ...
