:D I was very glad to see Lenny ranked so high (no. 4) on their top 10 players of the year list. Although I thought Zac should have been higher than CJ on the "most improved" list. Jones was doing very well in the second half of last year, so I reckon Zac has come from much further back.

With slows of Blake, Max and Zac down back....you need Gilbo's pace there to offset them. Not if we put someone else quick down there, to feed off those other guys. We don't need all of Max, Zac, Blake, Fisher and Gilbert (all over 190cm) down there. That's way too top heavy. If we put someone like...

I can see both points of view. But if we want to argue about not resting on our laurels and striving to improve regardles of a 12-0 result so far, then every player should be scrutinised... and players picked on their merit, not past reputation. Max is no exception, and i's not about respect. It's ...

well all will be revealed in round 14. i agree max can play small. maybe max on stevie j? Max is the absolute perfect matchup for Johnson. As good a stopper as max is he is absolutley no match up for Stevie J. He'd beat him in the air,but get murdered everywhere else. Johnson is virtually another m...

One of the things that both Gardiner (C) and Gwilt have demonstrated to me is just how difficult the role of 3rd tall forward/medium forward is to execute in the modern game. You've got to be able to: - Lead like a KPP. - Contest a mark straight up like a tall. - Compete at ground level with the sm...

With G Ablett probably having 20 votes already, Nick would probably need to be BOG almost every week from here on in to win it. Joey has hopefully got heaps though, so he is likely our best bet. Glad to see it, too, as he works so hard.

I just don't think Gilbert is good enough to play forward he's a great backman but he just doesn't seem to have that x-factor that could equate to 1-2 goals a game or a 3 goal blitz I reckon Gilbo is plenty good enough, and getting better each year, but there's one sure fire way to find out. And i ...

Rooey's kicking for goal has improved remarkably in the past 8 weeks or so. As previously stated, he's still been kicking one or two shockers each week, but the rest have basically been fantastic. I'm extremely happy for him (and us!). It's been great to see. Kosi's kicking for goal also began to re...

I reckon that the 3rd tall marking option (across half forward, leading up the wings, like Charlie did last year and Gwilt has been doing this year) is our only "weakness" on the field. Our structure was clearly better when Charlie played his few good games there early last year (in the NA...

Not sure a change is warranted TBH, on paper it might look top heavy but can anyone point out to me where the team has been found out because of this? against carlton, i though their small forwards (betts, garlett) and midfielders pushing forward (murphy, carazzo, simpson, gibbs) looked pretty dang...

I know Zac is supposed to be quick, but to me he looks hopelessly slow and lumbering. He is a mile behind Max as proved against Carlton when Max beat Fev and Zac was beaten by O'Haliporen ?? He was playing a lot further out from goal on O'Hailphin, which I don't think suits him. I'm haapy with him ...

Maguire's 2006 before he broke his leg was poor. The game of footy had got faster and more defensive, and he struggled big time. With time (and 4 years is an age in football), people only remember the good. People are making out like he was Sam Fisher. Was never anywhere close, and had as many poor...

Thanks for that, but I think you get my point. If you have someone who's good enough to play up forward and you have enough guys to cover him down back (which we clearly do), he's worth trying up there. We could benefit greatly from a good, mobile, marking target across half forward. Then we'd be re...

I agree, although I probably wouldn't play him on the very smallest and quickest guys anymore. He'd probably do a hammy. I'd keep him for mostly the medium sized guys I mentioned, who are more his sort of size. We've struggled to match up on a lot of guys like them in the times Max has had to play a...

Not only did Max only have one goal kicked on him in general play on the weekend (by the guy who just kicked 8 the previous week), but he also had 17 possies. And he's only going to get better, as ...

As I said, it would probably only be 2-3 for a very short period of time, maybe even just for one week (like when Milne and Dal were not picked for round 13 last year), to spark them back to playing their best, which it's pretty clear they're not playing at the moment. That's why you would do it. To...

We were too top heavy down back, considering they only had Fev and O'Hailpin tall forward. This was the opportunity to see how Gilbert or S Fisher would go across half forward, but they didn't take it. They played S Fisher on the wing, which seemed silly to me and he did very little there. He could ...

If you say so. As I said, "solid" may be good enough for some, but it's not for others. If you want to aim for "solid" in life, good on you. Some of us want to aim higher, and I believe we have the right to, as you have the right to aim for "solid". But do you reckon an...

Rubbish. Goose was a "gun". Were you not around in 2004 and 2005? And he was only 20 and 21 at the time. That's younger than anyone who was playing for us on Friday night bar Geary (who's 21) and Geary sure as hell hasn't been holding down a key position for 12+ months. Maguire was very st...

I'd like to get goose back in.....maybe in place of blake. He was very good at times (04 & 05), but I think he is sometimes a little over rated. Prior to his injury he wasn't playing great footy. He seemed to really lose his confidence after Hall punched him in the stomach in the 2005 Prelim, b...

Gilbert is in All Australian form as a back, why play him forward ? Because we could really do with his marking ability, athleticism and tackling pressure up there (across half forward, preferably, to allow Rooey and Kosi to stay deep in the 50 for more of the game). We have plenty of guys that can...

Are those who are pushing for Dempster to be brought straight back in related to him, or what? About the only thing in his favour is that Ross seems to have a definite bias towards those he's gotten from Sydney. I was pretty disappointed that Gwilt was dropped, although I hoped that meant that we'd ...
