How about not telling us what to do? If we see a change that we believe w...

I found this paragraph particularly interesting: "Conventional wisdom says that mostly, the premiership is won by the best defence. But in the past 10 years, only twice has the No. 1 defensive team won the premiership. Conversely, eight of those 10 premierships have been won by one of the best ...

Thoughts: Smith: Will be a player. Gradually came into the game the longer it wore on. Had a knack of finding space, looked to be quite quick and had a bit of penetration with his kicking. I liked the way he had a dip in the contests as well. He could be just what we need (serious speed) within a c...

Gram was one of our very best, but the number of times he butchered the ball almost, in fact did, become laughable. The Age had him down for 6 "critical errors" ("damaging, unforced errors"), out of our team total of 34. I thought he may have even had more than that. But at least...

As soon as last season ended I started wondering about Zac's availability. Considering where Goose was at and that Max wouldn't be around for much longer, I thought he was someone we might really go after. I was hoping that we'd try to trade for him, or at least take him late in the national draft (...

Dempster IMO. Goose will be exposed for lack of pace. Not by Mooney, or Hawkins, I don't think. Neither of them are exactly Usain Bolt. Bringing Goose in would also give us that little extra excitement boost (especially our fans), given how happy so many would be to see him back (and the fact it wo...

Blake is the weak link of a miserly defence..........he is well suited to CHB on a tall with a big engine, but lately has found himself (due to our ridiculously oversized backline) on a medium......and in trouble when the ball comes in quick......he panics and gives away poor frees.... the oppositi...

I expect it will be one of Max, Fisher, Gilbo, or Dempster, with the latter also being an option for Chapman, with Bakes to take whoever is smallest. I don't see a good match-up for Blake anywhere.

If Max misses, it will probably be either Goose (this could be the opening they've needed to get him in, and I hope they take it) or Dempster (who could be our best match-up on Chapman, if he plays forward, or S Johnson). I could definitely see them bringing him in to play on one of them, especially...

If it's not broken don't fix it !! NO. I hate this statement...you continually try to improve your list and your 22. Why would you continually play one who is not producing just because your side is winning? Should not reward players who don't deserve it, retention or promotion So who would you dro...

That list proves my point exactly. ... Those that can play well up forward get picked first, pretty much every time, as was the case in all those drafts. Your point seems to be that Gilbert should move forward, which is far from proven. You questioned earlier whether defenders go early at all, whic...

I'm also warming to the idea of Dempster, although I don't remember a thing about how he went for us last year (despite going to about 18 games and watching probably every one of our games on TV/Foxtel at least once.) He could definitely be one to put down back, to free up Gilbo or Fisher to play f...

Re: We need to make a few changes this week

I love critisim but i love changes to a winning side even more. I dont need a spell but people who want to drop everyone in sight do. I take it you're strongly opposed to Mick Malthouse "dropping" three guys this week (on top of an injury omission), to "keep the pressure on the playi...

It is good, but it could certainly be better, like earlier in the season. Winning isn't everything and I'd like to see us playing our best, with great intensity/passion, for 4 quarters a week. It's a lot more fun than just grinding out wins.

That stat (every team that's won their first 12 games has made the GF) doesn't really mean much, since it's only been done about 5 times before. It's not like it's been done 25 times and every team has made it.

It's not wise to go there. It's better to make missing the GF (or not winning it) not an option. We just need to commit to winning it and then find the best way to do so. That's how you get things done. In golf, "hackers" focus on the lake/trouble and inveriably hit it in there, whereas t...

We have all we need, but if I had a choice I may take Goodes, to play that mobile roaming/lead-up role across half forward. He could mark everything that came near him between the forward 50 and the wings, leaving Roo and Kosi dangerous inside 50. That Franklin bloke could be handy there, too, or S ...

Richmond have won 2 of their last 3 and with the excitement of Rawlings there now and Cousins doing well, they are not to be underestimated. I second that. Thanks a lot, guys. Something like this each week would be fantastic, for those of us who don't get there. We seem to have a lot of guys showing real promise in the VFL and reserves, which augers well for our future.
