Here here. I was directly behind Ablett and Jones and Ablett clearly took 2 or 3 quick steps to his left (off his line). If the ump was doing his job right he'd have called play on and they would quite likely have been down at least 5 zip at quarter time. Instead he paid 50 and got them going. They...

The Ablett 50m was disgraceful and got Geelong going, they were headed for a goaless 1st Quarter and that decision changed the momentum of the game. Here here. I was directly behind Ablett and Jones and Ablett clearly took 2 or 3 quick steps to his left (off his line). If the ump was doing his job ...

What a JOKE. They clearly had the better of the umpiring over the course of the match (as all the stats show), yet they're focusing on one incident in the last 3 mins (which was a set shot from the boundary, 50 metres out- hardly a gimmie!). Geelong wouldn't have been that close had it not been for ...

The Mooney free kick is being paid pretty much every time lately, so I wasn't surprised in the least to see it paid. They clearly had the better of the frees for the day, which I hope many will write to Mike and inform him of. There's no point getting all worked up here, when we can easily tell him ...

We don't have to "get beaten" sometime. That's bulls*** and that mindset is exactly how you do get beaten. It's a cop-out. Mount Everest "couldn't be climbed", flying to the moon was "impossible" and the Earth was "flat", until all (and as many others as you'...

From what I heard (level 3, right above where our guys ran out through the banner) we clearly had more numbers and noise, although it helped that we led almost all day. The whole area around us was very quiet, though. The most noise clearly came from Level 1, on the city side of the ground, which lo...

They may have been missing players.. but the umpire filled their spots. How true. They did their best to keep the Cats in it early. It was like the sort of charity you see when it's top against bottom and they're trying to even it up a bit. Some of the decisions were flabbergasting. The advantage f...

Well done Gardi, fantastic! I was so happy for him when he took that mark (and kicked the goal). The best high pressure mark I've seen since Leo Barry in the GF. Good on him! And he was written off by so many (as Goose is, at the moment). Just goes to show what's possible, when the will's there.

Goose just looks out of form, and if you can't find form after 14 rounds, well maybe that is his form.... Although he turned the ball over a few times today (although not as many times as Gram did in the seniors last week, and I think Port Melb had numbers back, so he didn't have many good options)...

I think Ross says a lot of things like that just to keep them motivated, without really believing that it will happen. Otherwise many of them will just see this year in the VFL as a long one, with no hope of playing AFL any time soon- which they won't be, if match committee continue with their curre...

The Goose is 25, he potentially has 5 years to play. He not getting a game atm but a week is a long time in footy. This time last year people on here were writing obituaries about Michael Gardiner... And Warren Tredrea, and they're much older than Goose, as is Nathan Brown, who someone else ...

As usual the club will know better though and hopefully we will win and the logic will be revealed. The club most certainly doesn't always know better. They're not 100% perfect and I'm sure if they're honest they wouldn't claim to be. Sometimes "blind Freddy" can see a problem, but the ma...

I reckon it's got to be a real kick in the guts to Goose, especially to not even be one of the 4 "in's". Very disappointing, like when X Clarke was left out in favour of Eddy, earlier in the year, despite X having been dominating in the VFL in the weeks previous. I wouldn't blame Goose if ...

WE'RE GOING TO WIN AS A TEAM

With all this talk about who's going to play on who, etc, we need to remember that it was our guys playing so well AS A TEAM, earlier in the year, that served us so well. With so many "guns" on each team, it's easy to wonder which guy's going to "win" the match for either team, b...

The idea was suggested for boundary throw-ins a few years back, but it was quickly knocked on the head by the ALF, who said it was "not allowed", or words to that effect. The same may apply to the goal line.

As far as S Johnson is concerned, we have plenty of genuinely good options. If he plays deep, I'd have Max on him (if he comes up), then there's also Fisher and Gilbert, all of whom are taller than him and quick/mobile. Then there's also Dempster, who is an ideal size match-up and as a last resort (...

Gilbert actually started at half forward! correct, but the backline lacked a bit of run without him i thought. Wasn't he only there for about a minute? He was inside forward 50 for the first bounce, but then about 60 seconds later he was getting a kick on the last line of defence. I'm pretty sure h...
