Nick Nat could be as big a loss as Kerr. Not necessarily because I think he'd have as much influence on the game, but because of the effect he has on the crowd, especially. They may get a few thousand less, now that he's not playing and they won't get anywhere near as excited with him not there, I ...

I'd love to see Sam Fisher across half forward, in the role Sammy Hamill or James Hird used to play. He's great down back, but could give us a heap across half forward, too, where I agree we're slightly lacking. He could take a dozen marks a game between the forward 50 and the wings/half back. If Bl...

Re: The advantage myth

Just watched a replay of the Game on Fox and was reminded how many free kicks we missed out on...particularly in those final frantic minutes...Kosi blatently held and thrown out of the way in a marking contest by Scarlett and then Milne was mauled and taken out of another a few seconds later... :sh...

Might be a good idea this week, given that they have Q Lynch, Josh Kennedy, Ashley Hansen and Mitch Brown in their team/forward line. All four genuinely big at 194cm and above. I like it!

OK, I getchya now. But they are percentages based on two polar opposite 6 week runs in terms of opposition. We both played Melbourne (us away, them at home) and we both played Essendon (us whilst they were top 4 aspirants, them on the way down...good game from the Pies though), but the rest is heav...

different teams do things differently My point exactly. How well did our side respond last year after Dal and Milne were "dropped"? Everyone was effectively, or actually "put on notice" and the team turned their year around enormously. That seemed to continue into this year and ...

They "dropped" 3 and one more was out with injury and he was quoted as saying that it was to "keep the pressure on the team", or words to that effect. So it was a strategic move and looks to have worked very well, like "dropping" Dal and Milne did for us last year (des...

"Fair point. There is always more than one way to do things. However the OP suggested that RL would be a fool not to change the team around now that top 2 has been secured. I'd suggest that history tells us it's not foolish to change the team unless absolutely neccessary. In fact history tells ...

I really wish the club would come out and say what's going on with him and why he's playing so little. If they have a game plan with him it would be nice to hear it. It's not like they'd be giving away national secrets. I don't think it would be at all unreasonable to tell the fans and members what ...

Collingwood played and out of form Port, Freo and Melbourne in that time too. I think Mick Malthouse whould have preferred not to make any changes, as players dropped were due to poor form. Additionally, they had injuries to counter. They "dropped" 3 and one more was out with injury and h...

Sydney went through the 2005 season using 25 players for the year. Does that mean that's the only way to go about winning a flag? Is there only one way to "skin a cat"? Ross is going damn well, but I hope he isn't stuck in 2005 and we're not Sydney. Mick Malthouse is pretty handy, too and...

After 4 possies on Sunday and 6 two games before, I think it's fair to say a break, or some time in the VFL is definitely in order. For his, the teams and those busting a gut in the VFL's good. Not going to worry about his good game 2 weeks ago? I know you must have seen Sandy for the last few week...

Have been surprised it has taken so long for Joey to appear on the Thursday Footy Show, considering he's been a regular on the Sunday version. He was a natural and looked very comfortable last night. I hope to see him plenty more on there in the future. Next up: B Goddard, I imagine.

And the fact that we won the next 9, by an average of about 50 points per game. And by the way we went against them the following year as well.

We were clearly the better team at the time and if not for getting a ridiculous amount of injuries, to our key personnel, would most likely have won at least one flag. If they reckon it was bad being without S Johnson and Ottens on the weekend, imagine if they lost as many guys as we did in 2004/2005!

If Raph gets his confidence back he could be great, like he was in the final against Collingwood last year, or hopefully even better. He just needs to take the game on and actually mark some balls, instead of double-fisting them.

As long as the club doesn't put the horse in front of the cart, they are just as big a chance of winning it if they are 22-0 or 21-1.
Indeed. It's totally do-able.

Lets hope we do, it would be awesome. I also reckon it would be great to see him spend more time in the forward pocket, where he can crumb goals and tackle so well. Almost snapped two on the weekend and is also strong overhead. I'd rather see him spend a bit of time there, than over half a game on t...

Probably like Robert Harvey. Extremely highly rated by Saints fans, not as much by the media and general public- because he's relatively quiet and doesn't do media every 5 minutes. Love him.
