It is run by the Angels...is it meant to be a "Girls" night, or is it just run by them as fundraiser? Does say invites "One and All"... Oh yeah. SB can you please clarify that? Is it just for the girls or for all? Wear a frock Milan - just to be safe :D I thought he already does...

I wasn't quite around in 78,but we must of been a fair side. My old man is the most pessimistic Stkilda supporter ever,we weren't even a good side last year according to him  . However I always remember him talking about the 78 season saying we were the best side in it and would of won it if ...

The media really jumped on that game. Front page of the Sun on Monday, "I thought my boy was dead" from Terry Cahill's mum. Essendon president calls us "animals". We get crucified by the maggots for the next 9 games, come home with a wet sail and just miss out on the finals, muc...

Not sure if that's directed at me... but my sauce was pretty close to the Burke family.

I barely ever actually stood in the actual "animal enclosure", preferring to stand just on the northern side of the Saints race and sometimes right behind the bench but I reckon people from thereabouts were just as vocal. The 2 days mentioned so far were both wonderful, belting ess...

So nobody replied to my post. I am interested... Did Harvey, Burke and Stewie have major say in the demise of Stan Alves? Not sure what happened, but Alves was never the preferred option. BArker was the king in waiting, then it went pear shape for him. I am friends with a past player and i was told...

For some reason, 1978 still sticks in my throat... more so that 97. When we were on... we were almost invincible. Power football, I think they called it. Sidey, big Carl, Rex Hunt, Muir. Mid season slump cost us a finals finsh.. and we were coming home with a wet sail and could have rewritten histor...

Blight left and it was all downhill for the guy. Didn't like the great man manager... or Minibus as he called him.

The number of AFL-quality players who can't get a game is a good sign. I'd have this as our best team when fully fit (excluding J. Smith as we haven't seen him in action) B: Gwilt, Dawson, Baker HB: S.Fisher, Blake, Gilbert C: Montagna, Hayes, Gram HF: Goddard, Riewoldt, Schneider F: Milne, Koschit...

Yeah, I'd have him in our bottom 6... which is still your best 22 so to speak. Our depth has almost become like a funnel... as we blood new defenders, it pushed previous flankers like Gram and BJ up the field and so on. Gwilt's ascencion makes it difficult for guys like Eddy and more improtantly, De...

Still find it odd that people underate Ray. Last year he averaged 23 touches a game. This year he's on 19. Very good efficiency. Obviously plays his part. I'd be interested to see what his current TOG is. Currently ranked 2nd at the club for disposal efficiency: 89 percent. And I don't think he's mi...

Do you think it has more to do with everyone sitting.. and possibly there's more kids at games?

I reckon that there were less kids back then. But I could be wrong.

I know that I am more mindful these days coz my kids are there.

But it somehow doesn't seem to deter opposition suppoers. :?

4,600 members in 84 is a disgrace. Talk about not having any idea about Sales and Marketing! Surely most other clubs (bar Fitzroy, Footscray and North) would've had double our members. Yes, we were a crap team, but there was virtually zero marketing of memberships back then. Back then, I don't thin...

Since 1984, our membership has grown from 4,930 to 38,000+ Those 4,930 endured yet another wooden spoon. But 77 goals to a young kid named Tony made it worthwhile. No.

We should completely expect to be in the finals at this stage of our 'window' (for want of a better term).

Weird and Freakish Stats...

Just browsing thorugh the footy record and discovered some weird and wonderful stats about the club... Stuart Trott #7 IIRC) played 103 consecutive games. I recall he went to Hawthorn. Re: Who makes way for Kosi?

Just wondering who everyone thinks will come out of the team to make way for Kosi? Peake was pretty quiet this week but do we sacrifice a runner? Clarke's just come back in the team after a few good weeks in the VFL so i'd think he'd be given time possibly? the only change this week imo is king out...
