Re: Watters Age Article
Watters said on radio prior to the Cats game that he had no doubt there were players at Sandy (he didnt name) that hadn't played a senior game that would become long-term servents of the Stkilda Football Club. These players are likely to be Seb Ross, Markworth, Curren, Minchington. Maybe Ferg. He al...

Re: Jordan Gysberts
I watched the Sandy v Casey game and was an interested onlooker at Gysberts.
He's very light for AFL still, would need to improve significantly in strength. Kicked a classy goal last weekend.

Re: Our best ever pre-season coming up
Does anyone think there will be a push by the club to go to the US for altitude training over the pre-season?
I can't see a reason with a few ex Collingwood employees now at the club that it wouldn't be far from happening?

Re: Where's Wilkes at?
Doing well at Sandy - playing as a full forward. Is similar to Kosi in that a lot of his marking comes in contests, very strong in 1-on-1. Wilkes well ahead of Archer as the tall forward option but whether thats good enough to retain on primary list, I guess the last part of season will tell. In his...

[sorry to quote myself, but was digging and found some interesting stats the 9 against carlton was in 2006 carlton kicked 4 goals for the game. fev kicked all of them. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/games/2006/031520060521.html and of the saints playing that day, 10 are still on the list (and a ...

Re: Tom Ledger
Saw the Ledge play at Frankston on weekend and a few other times this year. He got some attention to the hip flexor on weekend, looked a bit tight. As the games go on he tends to really feel the pinch i.e - his running can go up and down in the one spot and his kicking lacks penetration. He also cam...

Re: Did Cripps do a hammy? !!
I have seen Crippa spend the whole match at Sandy in the arms of trainers and still kick 3. Huge potential but body dosent seem hardened for AFL.
I had that (premature) knock on Sipposs after seeing him in pre season game but he has really put on some pound and seems more likely at this stage.

His handpass in the final quarter that got Milera the goal was also a nice handball rainmaker....they come in all forms and some are more effective than others!

His one handed pick up off the deck at CHB and sprint away was a dead set highlight.
Kicking never pretty and I almost wore a high floater out of bounce in Q4. Yikes!

Re: Surely the goal by #2 is worthy of it's own thread
I love 3 small things apart from the obvious goal
1) Milney running to him before it bounces through
2) The Shaw cough-up. Nice.
3) Crippa, Sippa, goal! GOAALLLLLL ! Lets hope those two are in many brilliant plays for the next 10 years

Great work in getting this far.

Re: Why doesn't anyone rate our kids?
Nice write up but a few points of difference from being at the game * Andreoli ain't a "jet" but is improving and has a penetrating left foot. * Not sure how Coleman and Arch could get mixed up! I saw a quarter of development game and Staley took a huge contested mark in the middle. Runs a...

Re: VFL Rd 7 - Sandy vs Bendigo - Radio :)- scores
Let's mention Andreoli ! Theres not much of him but he does have a great left foot that can really penetrate. Played to advantage of half back. In the last quarter as the game opened up some, he hit a target strongly 50m away. On kicking ability score, probably similar to Crocker but he played Devel...

Just looked to lack a little 'touch' today after a week off suspended.
Would be good to throw him up the ground occassionally with his pace.

Re: VFL RD 6 - Sandringham vs Collingwood- TV /Scores
Seb Ross's game anyone? Played a fair game. Kicked a goal in the second and seems to have patience when he has the ball, good ball user. Is not getting large numbers of possessions. There are several Sandy players in the mid that stand out more. For aggression - Cockie and for clearance work - Cook...

Really like him, however is it just me or does he lack a little bit of intensity? I guess it's just his style. But, in the last quarter when Milne kicked it over his head and Pavlich picked it up, he didn't really show any desperation to tackle Pav. Just a little thing I've noticed about him, and p...
