You might be right... doesn't mean anything will come of it.

If Watters is an admirer of Gram's and has plans for him, surely this trade negotiation is dead.

It may only come to that if Walsh isn't partial on his destination.

Walsh can't afford to put a price on his head like Ball did, and there are too many other potential suitors for there to be any guarantee of him going to Sydney.

I'd throw in pick 37 to snare the deal for 22 also. Doesn't look like it will happen though, Watters sounds emphatic.

There's a rabbit to come out of a hat yet, I'm sure of it.

Some on here seem to be convinced after one press conference that Watters in a coaching genius while Buckley is apparently a total dud. It's all crap, of course. Nobody has any idea yet how Watters is going to go. He might turn out to be a dud and the OP might end up having a point. There's an elem...

Surprised to read so many people eager to see Gram go. Arguably should have been the club's first Norm Smith Medallist and still very handy, particularly in light of Gwilt being out for 2012 with a knee. Kicking skills aren't always great but could be worked on. Fair enough if the club need room in...

I can't help but remember thinking that during Lyon's first press conference (and indeed first 12 months in the job), he never referrred to the Saints as "we" or "us".... it was almost like he subconciously was still at the Swans. It was never completely abandoned by him either ...

+1
What I liked was that it was written from the POV of and signed by the new coach. Nice touch!

I feel all warm and cuddly. :)

Would he care who picks him up, if it means he's playing AFL footy and getting paid well?

You missed my point completely. I was saying that just because he is exploring his options that does not mean he "doesn't want to play for St Kilda".  There have been plenty of instances in the past where a player has walked and refused to return to a club. Is there any evidence that To...

Let's just accept that none of us really know the reasons behind these things. It's like the Tommy Walsh thread where people are saying "if he doesn't want to play for us" etc. Do we know that? Or are we basing that on some reports that suggest he's considering a substantially better from...

Why would Adelaide spend a second round pick on the slowest player ever? He can't run, kick, he's weak, he can't mark. Yep - must be on his way out if SS is saying such nasty things about him. For the record, he was in sandy's best 7 times out of twelve. SS darling Tommy Walsh was in the best 8 tim...

The one thing Niall's article doesn't cover is the "one club" proviso on the 10 years completed service. As I understand it (but not 100% sure), the current rule has that proviso, which is why Milne couldn't be included this year. If that proviso stays under the new rule, Milne would come...

Re: What has this board done?

IMO our current board are under-achievers, by comparison with many other teams. I'm surprised you think that. The previous board managed to pull off some good things, of which Lyon and Misson were two. They also managed to c**k a few things up royally. If Butterss managed to haul the coals out of t...

The Giants were able to trade Saad and Milera under rules that allow them to pre-list any player who has previously nominated for the draft. This is the clever bit, it's a once-in-a-lifetime deal unless the AFL run another expansion in the future and use the same rules. As the first club to negotia...
