Tonight was a training run for the cats against an insipid, spent cold, depleted oversold pie outfit. Not the tune-up after a week off that Geelong would have wanted to face our pressure next week. The dogs gave us a good hard honest game...and we prevailed with a good number of players fully down.....

We definately need another strong, mobile good kicking forward to take the heat off Roo. Has done it before in the finals and has a big body to batter them with.

You guys have said it all...twas the most tense encounter i have ever watched. Each side gave everything it had. For me, the 4th down to the 3rd last minute seemed to go on for ever...we were 1 0r 2 points up and there were ball ups and out of bounds galore. the tension only broke when Roo toe-poked...

I think we need need neither Max nor Zac for the game against the dogs.

We have more than enough talls down the back to cover any combination of forwards the bullies have. In fact, we have too many talls.

I would drop Zac, and bring in a runner...like Geary to bolster our mid-field rotations

Yes..it's clear that the "inner club"...the players, coaches and associated staff are all living in the reality of the "now"...

and the reality of the 'now" is success...and that a premiership is 2 wins away and fully within their grasp.

Sure the Saints control the other side, possession, ball movement...and do it better than any one else at the moment...but I still get the sense that we do not put enough scoreboard pressure on for the amount of effort and control we have. Unless we get more scoreboard value for the team's efforts.....

Roo is a true professional and pretty much a champion. No one questions his commitment, courage, overall skill, stamina etc. But his kicking, although much improved, does not match his level in the other aspects of the game. He would know that... just as CJ, Mini, Blake and many others have improved...

CJ and Mini will be celebrating a club record personal winning streak...come GF day.....AS WELL as the big one!

I think if anything is going to motivate Roo to fix his kicking this will.....a real disappointment now...but will be a blessing in disguise I think

The rules allow Lyon and Bailey to do exactly what they are doing...anything else is just plain crazy for their respective situations now. Each is coaching well and being clever.
