Re: Wilkes in defense
He can't play as a defender. His not good enough. + 1 Wilkes was recruited as a fwd. He cant play back. Lets get a back to play back. First Kosi, then Roo - now Wilkes. Who next - Milney to FB? Lets get Brown or Hartigan to play defence. Con Wilkes was recruited as a backman but couldnt play there....

Re: Cripps and P.26 for Brown?
The more I think about it I think it will be quite complex & involve 2nd & 3rd round upgrade's for the Eagles. If it happens I think it will look more like this. WCE receive Cripps, 26 & 47 Saints receive Brown, 41 & 62 Close but whispers are 49 not 47, with that coming for Ray from...

Shane Nelson
WEST Perth midfielder Shane Nelson was the standout performer at the WA 2012 NAB AFL Combine on Sunday, boosting his draft chances one year after surprisingly being overlooked. It was expected Nelson would be recruited in the second round of the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, but an illness suffered on the ev...

Re: Justin Koschitzke 2013
If we want to go anywhere as a club Kosi shouldn't be in our first 22 next season. Footy is a brutal and ruthless game, and unfortunately Kosi is no longer up to it. All of those having a cry and trying to defend Kosi obviously are happy with us being a mediocre side. Thanks for all you've done Kosi...

Re: Sen rumour
This is an intriguing trade. Stefan Martin can play full forward, full back or ruck. The question is where are we planning on playing him if the rumour is true?? As it has been stated many times before, we are going after Brown and Hickey...yet Martin can play both ruck and back (maybe not as well a...

Not many 17/18 year old key forwards get a game.
He said himself he wasn't mature enough at the time both physically and mentally.

Re: Jamie Cripps-Mitch Brown? !!
Is it time for us to throw our hands up and say OK we can't get him and turn to North and say how much for Hansen. Why would we turn our attention from a full back to a foward...and a crap one at that! I would say if the Mitch Brown trade breaks down then we might look at Luke Delaney and maybe Cam...

Someone posted this on Bigfooty. Not sure of the source, but if it's true...wow. 'News coming through is that the Saints have offered their Brendon Goddard compensation pick (13), pick 24 and pick 34 for Gold Coast pair Josh Caddy and Tom Hickey. Gold Coast have reportedly knocked back the deal.' T...

I still reckon Caddy is overrated, we can pick up someone just as good, if not better with pick 13.

Re: Land of the Giants
Isn't Lee more of a third tall mobile forward? Stanley has to play and Roo obviously. I like Kosi deep but Id also like yo see Roo and Stanley rotate and the resting ruckman stand in the square. But if the resting ruckman is forward then it makes 4 talls if you include Lee. He is 195cm so that seem...

I am completely shocked he has been delisted, was one of the premier ruckman last year, unfortunately it was injuries that kept him out this year and Mike Pyke has taken his opportunity.

Interesting you mention Gilbo there Rexy. Just signed a contract but have a funny feeling, when you look at our line up, that you might be on to something there. I do wonder what names we are throwing about out there and Gilbert is one that comes to mind. Gram is another that comes to mind.....as i...

Re: So the new recruits do what to our 2013 lineup?
Hickey will be depth
Blake will retire if Brown is secured.
Lee will take Kosi's spot, I can see our forward line looking something like this:
HF: Schnieder, Riewoldt, Stanley
F: Milne, Lee, Saad
Wilkes rotating off the bench and Siposs off the half back line floating forward.

is 194 big enough to be the second ruckman Well he is 2 inches taller than Jason Blake. Anyway if we get Hickey he wont need to be used as a 2nd ruckman. That is true but where the hell does Hickey play when not rucking. That has always been my issue on the second ruckman in a side. I wouldn't thin...

Re: Jamie Cripps-Mitch Brown? !!
Its because he is a KPP. Look what we just paid for unproven FF. And a KPP who opportunities are limited at WC acording to Worsfold Straight swap seems fair to me given the age difference as well As for the unproven FF - we pratically traded Goddard for a 21 year old state league gun + a second rou...
