Re: Blues - Milney's bunnies

Hawkins kicked 4 today against Sydney to take him to 62. Milne needs at least 7 to tie now.

Re: We wounded them in R7 - now lets destroy them

All I'm hoping is for Milne to kick a bag and win the coleman. Wouldn't that be brilliant. It would just be about the only that could make me smile about this season.

Milne will make it. Dempster will probably just miss out. Roo and Hayes chances for the 40 man squad.

Re: How long since?

At least with Freo winning against North and both North and Freo certainties to win next week (v. Gold Coast and Melbourne), it means 13 wins would still not have been enough to make finals. So even if we did beat the Pies like we deserved too, we still would have missed out.

Re: Cripps + Newnes = guns

Haven't really been impressed with Cripps, however he did have a good game. Probably his best game in Saints colours, although he was only against GWS in a 100+ belting. He still has a long way to go. He really needs to work on his disposal and composure.

Re: Siposs

I really think he is our most exciting prospect. McEvoy, Steven and Armitage have shown more than him, but I believe Siposs is going to the best of our young crop. Can genuinely be an A-grade talent. Obviously he would be capable of playing off the half-back flank, but I'd rather a top-notch forward...

Re: Cripps + Newnes = guns

Yesterday was the first game I saw Newnes play in the AFL where he actually attacked the game, which was good to see. In his games prior he has seemed very tentative in going forward and preferred to just handball off or kick backwards, which is surprising, because watching yesterday's game showed h...

Re: Goddard question

The best we will do is the pick after our lst pick. If GWS compo is the same as it was last year, then we can't get that. The Dogs and Melbourne were given the option of first round picks at the end of the round last year or after their first pick this year and beyond. Not surprisingly, they both o...

Re: Goddard and saints going to Free agency to decide his va

Just for the record, the compensation we will receive if Goddard goes to any club other than GWS via free agency will be either a first round pick or (worst case scenario) an end of first round pick. But, it will have to be used this year, you can not bank these picks like the picks received from GW...

Re: Has Kosi played his last game?

Kosi in the past 4-5 seasons generally starts the season well and will all think, finally this is the year. However, he then turns to absolute crap in the last half of the year. Maybe we should just start playing him in Round 13. But, seriously, his last game was an absolute disgrace and if he doesn...

Re: Feel sorry for Lenny

He has a 5 year good record, so that could save him. Won't get more than 1 with that record. In reality it doesn't really matter as long as he plays on next year, as you would hate for that to have been his last match.

Re: Stephen Milne

May miss out this year to Rioli or Jetta but will be close. Dempster and Milne are our only chances I would think but i doubt any this year. Cyril injured for the rest of the H&A will most likely mean he misses out and Jetta plays more Wing/Half-Forward. I'd say he is good a chance, but will ne...

No point fighting it. St Kilda has learnt from the Kim Duthie episode it is just best to accept and deal with it as quick as possible so that the media move on, rather than denying and fighting it and having it drag on for weeks.

Re: Is it over now?

The fact is looking at the draw a couple weeks ago, we were thinking that Sydney and Collingwood were the games we could lose and still make finals. Sure it hurts, because we really could have won both, but the fact is, it was always going to come down to the Carlton and Geelong games. Win those and...

Re: Saint v Pies - Preview / Discussion

Sean started on the wing tonight. I wonder, can he go with someone in the middle in a shutdown role ? not this again! sean gets toweled up whenever he plays either mid or on a tall fwd. although every few months the coaches/fans forget and think they can give it another go. short memory syndrome. t...

The old firm really stood up. Roo, Hayes, Dal, Montagna and Goddard all playing like it's 2009. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Not really a key defender. Does his best work floating into the contest as the 3rd man. Ok player, but I'd prefer we go after a true full back, if we do go after someone.

Re: Gym

D swan is a great example of muscle not being needed to be a great afl player.... Dane Swan may not have much bulk, but he would be just about the strongest player at the Pies. Pretty sure he benches the most at Collingwood. Big difference between training hypertrophy (bulk) and strength and power.

How about "Wally", because he is one for mucking up on the turps twice, and because it's rhyming Aussie slang for your shout (Wally Grout). He's obviously been involved in buying some rounds during his short career. BTW is anyone else disturbed by the fact he blew .08 the morning after? M...

If you don't think players drink during the season... well... there is a lot you don't know.

These are young adults and generally go out and drink most weeks.

Not condoning what Jack has done, but I'd take a bet that many on hear have driven over the limit the morning after and not even realised, because they went pulled over and tested. It happens to a lot of people and it's a mistake that many people make and some find it hard to register that they won'...

Re: This weeks selections........

That was Saad's first poor game of his career, I think it's ok to excuse him considering it's his first season. If he continues to play poorly he will be dropped, but considering before last week he has been very good, he stays.

If you actually think coaches listen to fans you are quite delusional.

Re: Scott replaces kosi- On the Couch

Ledger looks similar to Jones in that he can get a lot of ball but doesn't use it well by foot. Needs a player running with him and is very short. He will be a player but probably in the Jones style not Dal. Markworth is about 50 kg so would probably get snapped in half at AFL level. I think Ledger...
