Re: trade rumours

Myers would be a good fit. Big strong inside mid with an absolutely lethal kick on him. Been played out of position at the bombers because too many midfielders are in front of him. Would be happy to get him, especially if he comes as a free agent.

Re: Josh Bruce keen to be traded to the Saints

Not sure where this elite kick stuff is coming from, but you'll be disappointed if you're expecting that. He can sometimes hit a tough kick but he's more like Sam Gilbert in that he's prone to poor decisions and clangers. Having said that, I am a big fan of him. Good height and is often a marking de...

Re: Nick Dal Santo such a nice guy

I won tickets to the B&F through the Saintsational sponsorship program a few years ago. Dad and I stayed until the end of the night, and Dal was one of the last players there. They were clearing everyone out of the room and I was waiting for dad to come out of the toilet when Dal just approached...

Will be Jack I think. He did it while Milne was out, gave it everything he had too. He'll do it proud.

Now i know this will most likely be me figuring out that 1 + 1 = 3 But the club keep talking about aiming/aggressively targeting to get a gun midfielder under 25 in free agency the only one that i can think of right now who is still eligible this year is Dustin Martin.... could we be any chance kno...

Re: Brown out of contract at years end

Would rather get Keefe from the Pies and Josh Bruce from GWS. They would work perfectly together and are good heights - 200cm & 196cm. Both rated highly internally, but if we offer them way more than they could get from staying at their clubs then you never know. 4 years for 1.6m each or somethi...

I have reason to believe that this man is the very first name listed on our 'wanted' list.

He's exactly what we need in my opinion. Offer him 4 years and $1.6. Just get it done.

Re: No.1 Pick - Tom Boyd

Even if the Saints want that deal, McEvoy would have to want to play at the Giants and I can't see that being the case. Reckon there's a 99% chance the Big Boy will be at the Saints next year and we should be glad to have him.

Re: If we can't get Boyd...should we go for Patton?

I often hear this line about GWS having 3 key forwards if they get Buddy (Patton, Cameron, Buddy) but the player who is somehow constantly forgotten is Tomlinson. This boy can play, and has shown a lot more than Patton has (granted Patton has had less opportunities). I think Tomlinson will either ne...

Re: Saints in the paper again!

Apparently you can choose to remain anonymous while it's investigated. I would suggest that some one has leaked and that is why the Saints and Saad are not answering questions. He might get a nice pay out if they don't. Seriously it sounds like Saad has taken a one off while Essendon ran a program ...

Re: Macca trade

I think we should at least explore the possibility of trading McEvoy, we would be silly not to. We go to GWS and say, IF we were to put McEvoy on the table for #1, what sort of cash would you offer him. We then take that answer and say to Ben, 'look, we really value what you bring to the club and we...

Tom Curren turned the game

Just his presence on the field lifted the entire side. As soon as he came on we were s*** hot. In all seriousness, he played half a game of footy for 7 touches, 2 tackles, and a goal. No obvious clangers that I can remember. Cracked in hard. Definitely showed enough to get a full game next week I th...

Re: Hickey v McEvoy -who had the better game?

Hickey seriously looks like a poor mans Warnock, which is saying something.... He looks a bit Gumby like for me.... Reportedly a good runner, looks slow, clumsy and not overly strong (being nice) ... Mac has one thing going for him.... He can catch the ball.... Need more to his game... I agree. hic...

Re: Roberton??????

I like Robbo in the backline....he and Wright will be our running backs of the future Wright should play in the midfield eventually. He's not just a hard at it half-back type. He's quick and he played with genuine flair as a junior. He hasn't shown what he can really do yet. Can kick amazing goals,...

Re: Tonights positives

Reckon one of the biggest positives is how often guys like Newnes, Ross, Webster, Roberton hit the target by foot. They're all above average users of the footy and as young players that's really promising. Footskills are absolutely critical so it's nice to be building a team of young blokes who hit ...

Any realistic options from GWS or Gold Coast we could look at? Matt Buntine was drafted high by GWS in 2011 from Dandenong Stingrays. He'd be at the end of his initial 2 year contract soon and is a local boy. Whether he can play or not, not sure?? Anyone know anythign about him? Can definitely play...

Re: Why are Port so good? Can we learn from them ?

Draft picks have definitely helped. Hartlett, Boak, Wingard, Wines have all had tremendous seasons to date and they are the sort of quality we haven't had access to for quite some time. They are are the ones really driving Ports resurgence for mine.

Re: Lets not play the Swans in NZ next year

Thought the same thing last night, think we need to mix it up to try and get a real stronghold over there. If in 10 years we have 10,000 3 game NZ members then we will be in a much better position financially. Once we have consolidated our position as the only supported team then we can look at maki...

Yep, Plugger is right. Free kick was paid correctly and Rhys should have known better than to do it. He didn't even try to disguise it, but spread his arms out wide to make it obvious. Costly mistake
