I hate to say I told you so, but....

I was howled down when I posted the following on 10th April this year regarding Ross Lyon... Not only do I think Lyon should resign, I think he will. The current playing list have shown, with their off field behaviour, that they dont have the discipline required to succeed at AFL level. As coach Ros...

Gardiner McQualter Baker Eddy Blake Gamble Polo Trade Gilbert for an acceptable Draft Pick, maybe pick 20. I reckon we should try and get a top 5 pick for Gilbert. Also Polo doesnt deserve to go at all. If we could get a top 5 pick for Gilbert even better. But I seriously doubt it. Regarding Polo, ...

End of an Era

Ross Lyon was quoted as saying it was the "End of an era".

Coach speak for "I'm going to coach Melbourne next year"?

Would not surprise me in the slightest given his mood after the game last night.

Our best FB goes foward because we have to many bakman. How about our best FB stays there and either another backman moves somewhere else or is dropped. Don's start me on this argument! I think Riewoldt has proved that he is an above average finals player. Twice in as many years he has pulled us across the line in a prelim through sheer will power. He also played an amazing game against Collingwood in the 09 Qualifying final from memory. He is marked harshly on his GF performances...

The first line in the article says it all...

"ROSS Lyon has refused to be involved in rumour and innuendo concerning his playing future..."

It's clear that this article relates to his PLAYING future and not his COACHING future.

Apart from a key forward who cant kick nothing much has changed... commentators still bemoaning the play on rule and also remarking that the Saints look so much better when the go up the middle rather than fiddling around.

One could also put forward the argument that we could have taken Luke Molan (7) ahead of Nick Dal Santo (13) in 2001, or rather than take Leigh Montagna at 37 we could have taken Ashley Watson (14) Daniel Elstone (20) Rod Crowe (30) Simon O'Keefe (34) or Jarrad Wright (35) Likewise in 2002 we could ...

No surprise at decision. The criminal legal system requires an acquital if not beyond reasonable doubt. Therefore Lovett does not have to prove innocence but rather that there was a plausable explanation of events which MAY be true. The victim in this case was drunk and therefore it was always goin...

Here is a little piece of information that people should write down on a bit of paper and stick on their computer, so that they don't forget. The author of any article published in our newspaper NEVER writes the headline. There are overpaid sub editors who are employed to do this. They often try to...

So let's sack the lot of them and start again because an Age reporter considers our premiership window closed. I disagree with him also that the list is a dog's breakfast. Lousy article. About the only thing it has right is that we should re-sign Ross. Yes - it was a poor article. Badly writ...

Whilst he is fantastic at getting the clearances, he unfortunately tends to butcher the ball both by hand and foot. A number of times tonight he was nowhere near hitting a teaget and turned it over too many times.

Needs to improve this part of his game.
