Leigh Matthews said earlier in the season that Saints style makes opposition look bad, due to both pressure and perceived pressure, it makes them nervous and fumble the ball. So far he seems to be the only one I've heard say it (I could be wrong), people have got to understand that when the oppositi...

Did anyone hear JB on TFS last night, he said the last time Collingwood won a final against St Kilda was in 1966? Is that right? semi final in 66 Hmmm, I find that interesting, I don't base our game on our history, however when I am nervous and unsure I do look at previous stats to try and calm my ...

Similar to Geelong game

Someone said to me that we would have won had we not let North get ahead 5 goals at start cos we won the rest of the game and we were missing Hayes & Hudgton, so the game was pretty much ours. Does anyone agree with this? Because yesterday's game was almost identical to the round 14 Geelong game...

Max has only played 7 games this year, his first one being round 11 against North. He played in the loss against Bombers, and didn't play today. While I love Max and I do want him back in the side, we have won easily in games without him (2/3 of our games approx.), from what I've been reading Dawson...

Maybe Ross didn't appear to be concerned because he knows something we don't. I choose to remain calm in the belief that Ross knows what he's doing. I may be naive, I may be blind in my faith, but maybe this is all ok as part of the plan. Burn out and injury will be more damaging right now than a l...

Happy Birthday Gilbo

Hey, I couldn't find any threads on this, so just wondering if people had forgotten.

It was Sam Gilbert's birthday today, 23 years old (looks 18 though)

Happy Birthday, keep up the good work

Even if we do win the GF, all the ones waiting for them to choke will come out with the standard "26 wooden spoons" response. They're the tools and regardless of what Saints achieve this year or for the next 10, they will never accept us winning a flag and I guarantee you will not offer co...

While King's got the finals experience that we need, I reckon they give McEvoy a run during finals to see how he copes, cos personally I prefer McEvoy, he's just got so much more presence around the ground, and call me simple, but I don't understand the importance of the ruck, once it's bounced by t...

Ok, I'm not making excuses for loss or blaming anyone or anything like that, I'm just curious if anyone else noticed how many times the ball was punched out of a contest rather than taking the mark. This was frustrating to watch cos everytime the ball spilled to ground you knew Essendon were going ...

The one that annoyed me the most was Kosi going for goal close in on a really tight angle, had 2 or 3 bombers players right there next to him so he couldn't play on and run around, I didn't think they were allowed to do that.

Wouldn't be surprised if a few of the returning stars didn't have another week off. Disappointing that Geary and McEvoy can't get another run, but I guess that's the price of success.... I personally reckon McEvoy might be getting a bit of a rest, and I don't think Bombers are that tall a team are ...

I do have a slight fear of Collingwood, but think about this. Everyone goes on about how much other teams have improved since we played them, that was said before both the Adelaide and Bulldogs games, and fair enough it made us nervous. But at the same time, we have improved as well, we comfortable ...

Wanna hear my way out there theory, RL dropped these guys cos Brent Guerra has the down - low on them and he wants to throw something at Hawthorn that they won't expect. It's a whacky theory, but it's also 3am and I worked about 16 hours today. I'm torn by the decision, on one hand you've got people...

Does anyone else think that it might have something to do with Hawthorn and the way they play, they are a pretty rough team, or even the ground down in Tassie? I wonder if he's trying to protect some players as well allowing others to overcome niggles. What you think?

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure if it were a rumor from the club or something. I'm hoping no injuries and just some bonehead put ridiculous amounts of money on the Hawks, hence the betting suspension. (I don't know if that's a plausible situation, I don't understand all the betting stuff)

Geelong the reason we don't "need to lose"

This is just my personal opinion, but I thought about it tonight, and as I've said once before, a team on a winning streak only needs to lose a game when they become complacent and develop this self belief that they are unstoppable. This is where Geelong comes in, most people still regard Geelong as...

I think another reason for RL's constant underdog comments is to also drill it to the team that there is no easy game, I reckon he publicly points out the challenges so the boys don't get content and think they can just win, it's like he's saying 'ok, they have a big advantage here so you guys have ...

I personally think it would be the perfect week to bring him back too, with the loss of Kosi and possibly Zac, I think it will make the boys fire up even more, not only because they're playing the Bulldogs, but also because it would be his 100th game and first game back from the long time injury.
