Needs to start on a wing and push into the forward line as he did on Friday night, this was very effective as he created another marking option up forward.

If we are still playing the type of footy that we have displayed so far this year, then there is no doubt we will loose Friday night games and deservedly so.
It might be a good think as I wouldn't have to waste all my weekends in a state of Saints induced depression!!!

13 Disposals, 7 marks and 1 tackle I'd say thats a pretty good first up effort. Would probably be more at home playing out of the square, has pretty good hands and would be more comfortable inside the 50m arc. Wouldn't mind seeing him and Charlie work out of the square together, at least then we cou...

KOSI??

Kosi needs to make sure his knee is right before coming back, as I'd say he 'd be playing for his career in the later half of this season.
Hopefully the big fella can come back nice and refreshed and regain some of the form that had so many of us excited about the years ahead not so long ago.

Allen and Charlie out of the square.
Roo and BG on the wings, also taking turns playing thru CHF .
Eddy, Gilbert, Montagna and CJ make up the rest of the forward line, Montagna to play up the ground leaving space for Roo and BG

Who would make way for Schneider? Bearing in mind Kosi is returning, as probably Milne and Dal Santo! Schneider may not make it, especially if it was between him and Eddy. Schneider will be in before Milney, and Eddy will stay in. Milne and Dal Santo to play at least another week with Casey. Kosi a...

RL sent them back to learn a lesson and he needs to see that through, so I don't think we'll see either of them back this week.
Only chance is if Lenny doesn't come up, Dal will then get a game

How can you possibly suggest that McQualter was the superior player.... I think we watching different games!
I agree totally, McQualter 6.5/10 you've got to be kidding more like 3.5/10 and thats only for his hardness at the ball.

So who does Dal Santo and Milne come in for? As long as Dal starts doing the one percenters he's a walk up starter next week, if not I'm sure Ross will leave him there until he does. While Eddy continues to provide the sort of forward pressure he did last night, then Milney might have a sustained st...

Look who really cares if we win ugly, surely there's a huge upside to the fact that we were able to win playing 3 debutants.
Only negative I got from the game was Lenny doing his hammy.

BJ's best game for a long time , hopefully Ross will allow him to stay in the midfield for the rest of the year. His long penitrating kicks out of the centre and into the forward line is what we've been missing.

Passengers

Ross it's time to start unloading some of the passengers, that have been carried by this team for far too long. Milne - You're personally responsible for this bloke still being at the club, continually gives nothing in interstate games and has averaged 1 bag of goals per season for the last 5 years....

Re: How about giving Milney a go in the midfield?

For one reason he seems to have trouble with consistency up forward and people are starting to lose tolerance for him and secondly when he comes out around the HF area he gets more involved in the play with assists etc. Would it be a crazy idea with his speed and agility (in which our midfield has ...

wouldnt be saying goodbye to milney I'm curious. Why not? Are you seeing something that i'm not? I find him terribly inconsistent, slow, frustrating as all hell. It's not that he doesn't kicks goals, but some weeks it's 4 and the next 3 weeks it'll be 0... at least thats how I see it. Totally agree...

Forward Pressure???

I don't think that our midfield is whats hurting us, it's the lack of forward pressure we apply. Too many times the midfielders and the backs work their arses off just to see their hard work undone by poor second and third efforts by our forwards, which results in the ball flying back out over their...

Really Ben Johnson and Clint Jones can't see a whole lot of difference between the two, both quick, hard at it types with dodgy disposal.
Yet Malthouse would pick Johnson in the starting 18 most weeks, BECAUSE he is quick and hard at it it, just like Jones.

CJ has to be given more game time for his skills to improve under the constant pressure of AFL footy.

Great to see him put 4 very good quarters together on the weekend.
