The 2 free kick goals in the first quarter kept the Cats in the game when the game should have been just about over at quarter time .. they both came late in the quarter and gave the Cats some momentum going into the 2nd quarter. the cats would have and should been truly shell shocked at quarter time.

That Milne "play- on" free kick was ridiculous as he was about to kick the ball into our F50 and didn't take an overly long time following the call to play on. There were also 2 free kick goals to the Cats in the 1st quarter that were too technical . One was a 50 metre penalty to Ablett wh...

Great game despite the thumpires worst efforts to keep the cats in the game and their hopes alive.

We were easily a 4 - 6 goal better side.

blake always gives 100 %

He had about as many possessions as 3 other players put together who seem to have dropped off lately - i wont name them as there could be genuine reasons for their loss of form?

i reckon the game will be won or lost in our forward line.. We need to be less predictable going forward to beat the Cats and to apply heaps of forward pressure to keep the ball locked in our forward 50. Once it rebounds and ends up with Ablett and co we'll be in serious trouble, because the Cats us...

Port Adelaide's medium sized forwards clicked and made the Geelong backline look second rate in the last quarter - luckily for Geelong Motlop was out - he might actually have made the difference.

I don't know if our medium sized forwards can do the same?

who are our medium sized forwards anyway?

Gram sprays a lot of his long kicks.

Therefore once he gets clear he should try to do what he did when he chipped a perfect pass to Riewoldt.

Just chip it 20 - 30 metres to a team mate in space and his team mates 30 - 40 metres away should encourage him by making space or leading into space.

so what if our back line is tall ? Gilbert, Hudghton, Dawson, Fisher are all mobile, versatile and good at ground level too. You can also look at it this way - means our tall defenders are more likely to outmark the opposition when the ball is kicked long into the opposition forward line. This might...

Power played no role at all. He was looking up ground and King was looking at him. As for if he hit Luke Hodge nothing would have happened well how would you know that. Are you calling Goose soft because he went down when Hally hit him or Kosi when he was hit by Gia or Kosi even when he ran into th...

I reckon King is unlucky ..I can't help thinking if that was Luke Hodge (or most AFL footballers) and not Sam Power, Luke would have just brushed it off and jumped straight back on his feet. We'd hear nothing more about it. King and St Kilda should definitely appeal it. St Kilda seems to set precede...

i agree that Blake should be included as second ruck if King misses - Carlton's strength apart from Fev is their midfield and Blake's mobility could come in handy.

I wonder if the tribunal takes into account body size and what would have been a harmless bump to most players - after all we are talking about a Paper Mache stick figure with Sam Power.

Sam Power has a duty of care for himself too.

this is the way I see it .. Players run to cover loose opposition players or fill empty spaces even when the ball is 50 metres or more away, which is just part of what should always be considered general play .. and the ball was only 20 metres away in this instance. 1. Kings and Powers intentions we...

One of our weak links in the past has also been some players kept getting injured and were continually in and out of the team. This resulted in an unsettled side .. plus it never helps having injured players sitting on the interchange bench. Blake has been durable , touch wood, and so has been a sol...

We have less weakness than most teams but are still clearly lacking -

1 a quick , line breaking midfielder with good foot skills - like a Lovett , Judd or a Leon Davis etc..

2. a classy mid sized forward .. like a Steve Johnson.

Leon Davis is Collingwood's key player.

He's quick, runs and carries and is a brilliant user of the ball.

He sets up goals if he doesn't kick them himself.

If one of our players can restrict him - that's potentially 6 goals off Collingwood's score just there.
