I reckon that Nick did everything he could to bring Lake's hit to the attention of the umpires. Does that mean he took a dive? I reckon he did: although the hit was definitely there. But did the dive (supposing he did) have any real bearing on whether there should have been a free kick or not ? I m...

where will the improvement come from

i reckon the Dogs played to their full potential apart from Aker not having a direct influence maybe with his goal kicking - they actually got the most out of their players. Whereas with us - I feel there's a chance for Montagna, Goddard and Gram to lift further - they played solidly but only had 20...

I think the point is it's okay for a little push and shove with your direct opponent , standing right next to you and the umpire allows for that. but what Lake did was he left his direct opponent Kosi and ran across 5 metres to forcibly bump Riewoldt. a completely different kettle of fish... and the...

what happened to Geary - he was one of our most consistent players until halfway through the year and then his form just dropped off and he became ordinary? He was averaging 20 running, long kicking possessions and then went to below 10 possessions with no run ? He would have been one of our first p...

There's no braver or harder working ball player than Riewoldt. When Gary Ablett dove to the ground againt the Pies dragging his opponent with him to the ground and was paid a free kick that clearly should have gone the other way - we didn't hear any more about that ? Nor did Gary Ablett admit that i...

If there's wet weather - it could present an opportunity to ratchet up our tackle count back up to our year high 120 tackles.

And 8 goals may be the winning score ?

In the reverse situation I'm sure most of us would have been hoping for the Dogs to go on to win the GF - I know I would. We are both sitting on 1 premiership - you'd think the Doggy fans would be empathising with our long suffering supporters and cheering us on now. Also if we lose to Geelong in th...

We have a back 6 that's at least as good as Geelong's. our 2 tall forwards are better than their 2 talls (Kosi has to kick straighter)... but our crumbers have been ineffective in the finals thus far(as in kicking their fair share of goals). - I think we need to find a medium sized quick/agile forwa...

The Dogs had 17 more inside 50's and still lost.
They dominated the first 30 minutes for only 2 goals.

So their coach , fans and SEN blame the umpires ?

Why don't the Dogs just concentrate on becoming more efficient.

He was at his best.

A shining example to a couple of other players who need to lift and be at their best too.

No passengers next week.

Roo, Fisher, Hayes. Dal Santo and Jones were at their best. Goddard, Montagna, Gram were solid but below par Schneider Milne (he tried) were well below par so there is room for improvement and there needs to be to match the Cats midfield (assuming the Pies don't win today). We lost the contested bal...

Amazing Captain's effort.

A couple of passengers need to lift if we are to win next week - but the good news is there is more upside.

We're playing crap but still are there abouts. Missing set shots hasn't helped. Hope Hayes corky isn't too bad... that's all we needed. Dal started with a twisted ankle, so that rumour had to be right too. I know you largely make your own luck, but it would be good if lady luck doesn't work against ...

If we don't have at least 7 different players kicking goals today and start getting goals from general play - it'll be very hard.

Hopefully we'll turn it around this quarter.

The people that would most benefit from these rumours are the bookmakers - assuming no mind games from the clubs themselves.

I'm just guessing the Saints don't want a hard tag to be applied early on Dal Santo.

it was a closed session.

Max is a top player and if picked it won't be on sentiment that's for sure and he can negate dangerous forwards better than anyone.

the only risk with Max is he's injury prone and i think that is the main concern going into a final.

they are playing their equivalent of the 'Rocca" wildcard with Tom Williams.

I can't remember him last time we played them ,hopefully that's a good sign.

For those interested in the match stats last time we played the Dogs -

There's little doubt Cooney will play.

Hopefully when he plays he will also be restricted to light duties ..
