Key Match Ups

How do you see the match ups panning out on Saturday night? Our Forward Line Reiwoldt - C Bolton Gehrig - Barry Kosi - LRT C Gardiner - T Richards / Mattner / Kennelly? Milne - Crouch Reiwoldt invariably towels up Bolton - Won numerous free kicks last season for getting arms chopped. Gehrig has alwa...

FFS have some faith in the kid  I have faith in his ability, I have doubts about his form. I'm not going to assume a victory over a quality forward just because Gilbert had a victory last time out. That seems arrogant to me. O'Keefe's a tough job for anyone. He deserves respect. Yep, must res...

After 1 game its amazing how peoples minds on here can change so much. I don't think my mind has changed on Gilbo at all. I'd seen nothing before this year to suggest his future was as a key back. While he showed glimpses of ability at the position over preseason, he's shown a hell of a lot more as...

Kennelly Injured

Reported in the Sunday Telegraph that Tadgh Kennelly injured his shoulder in a practice match between the Swans reserves and NSW/ACT U/18 Rams on Friday night. The team doctor is predicting he will be right come next week. Here's hoping it takes a week longer than that......... http://www.news.com.a...

Try Level 3, Aisle 35, its where the Saints of the Moorabbin Wing sit, alot of those on this site sit there as well (but don't let that put you off! ) .....way too many saints supporters in that area. Shes going with a Sydney supporting friend....That would be one of the last places I would ...

Thanks guys.

Last time I saw the Saints in Melb was in 2004 against the Roos - a few weeks after the winning streak ended. Was a marked contrast to the Crows game on the weekend with both sides slotting close to ten goals before kicking a point.

Can't wait!

NSW Native seeking TD advice!

Hi,

I'm coming down from Sydney with my housemate (a Swans fan) to catch our season opener. Just looking for advice on where to sit and whether or not to pre-purchase tickets.

Any help is much appreciated.

Here's hoping I can hum our victory song during the flight back home on Sunday morning!

Even more pleasing was that it happened on our HBF. Apparently, he had 5 tackles the other week too.....

Baum is not critcising SKFC specifically, but all AFL clubs. It is an opinion piece and he openly states his arguments. It's up to the reader to form their own opinion. My opinion is that clubs have the right to choose whether or not their personel get interviewed. Picking and choosing the questions...

Gehrig wasn't named was he? Isn't there a fine for playing a player that isn't named? You're right, Rutten doesn't get beaten so I don't see Kosi beating him (I hope I'm wrong). If Kosi breaks even and kicks a couple it will be a good result. However, if our midfield can dominate I can potentially s...

be a shame to drop the likes of jones armatage and allen concidering they did so well to get the team to the cup i reckon if we top up with our starting 22 we will find it harder to win then if we run the kiddies Do you say that because our 'starting 22' is not match fit? If so, then we better get ...

Pretty sure Allen will play. Has done well in 2 out of 3 games. Who knows? I wouldn't be annoyed if he did..... My thinking was just along the lines of balancing the side. With Kosi, Max and Chips back we can't really afford not to drop a tall or two from last week? Allen has been played forward an...

Yeah. I can see it. Reading the title I thought - hmmmmm maybe, but the elbow comment sealed it for me. Armo's hair is also pretty similar - colour and style (when doesn't have all the product in it). In terms of playing style they are both tough nuts who enjoy mixing it up in close and putting thei...

That looks just as good as any order I could come up with. It's a tough question! A spin off question is - how highly does RL rate Dempster? I'd add Birss, Fiora and possibly Milne to that list though. Competition for spots is a nice problem to have isn't it.... Here's a horrible scenario for you al...

Another area where there is a lot of improvement to be made is aour ability to run out games. RL mentioned last year that we needed to develop more gut runners during the pre-season with Harves and Lenny the only two he rated in this area. Our 4th quarter efforts left a lot to be desired in a few ga...

Aussie Jones at the time was a big loss. Aussie had an ordinary 2005 and was nowhere near as good as Gram in 2006. To the OP - it is all good and well to list all the players who were injured/unfit last year, but don't forget that there wll be plenty of new injuries this year and there will be diff...

With hindsight JB's efforts in 06 are looking very rosy! My only criticism is the selection of Howard as a second rounder and the re-drafting of Ferguson. Nothing wrong with taking a punt on a player but that's what the rookie draft is for. Ideally Ferguson should not have been redrafted and as JB o...

2007 vs 2008. Where can our improvement come from?

Hi. Long time reader first time poster – so don’t rip me apart too much! Been having a think about where our improvement can come from this year. Before I start I will preface this with – ‘I know it’s only pre-season’. I can see improvements coming from both our players as indivi...
