Re: Seb Ross
This is too good, we actually have hierarchy at the club making excellent decisions. Good times ahead.

Re: Jack Higgins
Really hope that Higgins comes to us. Statistics may say that Lonie / Billings do alright, but I wouldn't trust having either of them playing for us in a GF, I reckon they are too soft. Small guys, small bodies, they will go missing. I would trade them both while they have value. Nothing personal, I...

Re: Jack Higgins
If we get this guy it’ll be massive.
He plus Crouch can both play forward / midfield and it’ll do away with Lonie which is great. We can only afford to have 1 pigeon holed small forward (Butler) and no more.
Keep Kent and Hind a reserves in case of injuries .

Re: Crouch
Just watched the highlight reel and none of his midfield work really excited me. Particularly if we pay him $600k-$700k it sounds like overs. However, I did like his ability to kick it through the big sticks. So he'll probably spend a lot of time rotating through the forward line. This will probably...

He's out of contract .. and by all reports will remain at Geelong.
But I reckon he'll be a star , already looks the goods at 22 years of age.
Midfielder who can kick goals.
Worst thing we could do is offer more money than Geelong and make them stretch their own salary to re-sign him.

Re: Changes for the Second Semi Final against Richmond Tigers
IN: Battle, Savage OUT: Ryder (injured), Long (suspensed) I wish Longy doesn’t get suspended but as we all know the game has turned soft. Battle can play forward and give Marshall a chip out in the ruck when he needs a breather. Savage is a close like-for-like replacement for Long. I am guessing Ba...

Sounds like he could be on the way out from WC.
If so, should we take him for 2 years?
31 years old.
Hill on 1 wing and Jetta on the other.

Re: Kent
Stats can be misleading. Kent set up a couple of scoring opportunities that didn't register as stats. With 2:50 left in the 2nd quarter Kent did a toe tap to Brad Hill which led to a Paddy Ryder goal. With 8:10 left in the 3rd qtr Kent slapped the ball to Sinclair which led to the Geary goal. He was...

Re: Tim Taranto Footy Classified
This ecaxtly the player we need for our immediate and urgent shortfall in the midflied. Caldwell would only be good to us in 2 or more years, us being a top quality side in 2021. The development of this list will stall or go into a holding pattern at best if our midfield has to rely on the likes of...

Re: Melbourne watch
If we get in is there any chance we just "Bradbury " it. With close to no injuries, we doing Doggies 2016 run from 7th? The dogs did finish 7th, but that was on 15 wins, only 2 behind the ladder leaders. They also won 3 of there last 4 H&A games. I’m afraid we’re a long way from that ...

Re: Papley
We should definitely go for Saad, his quick movement and take the game on suits our game style and he and Long can team up wonderfully with Butler, Hill, Gresham etc. But to say we could get him as a straight swap for Ross, you are kidding. Why would Essendon want to swap a player who can run fast, ...

Re: Trade and Free Agency period
I think we should save money in the cap which we'll need for our rising stars, so I wouldn't want to go for a Williams (GWS). All we need are 2 gun midfielders and we can contend for a flag in 2021-22. Like I mentioned in another thread, I would actually sound out Mundy for a 2 year contract. He wou...

We should try to get Mundy on a 2-year contract, I don't care that he's 35. Could be the midfielder we need for a flag.

Re: Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention
I think it'll just take time, as these guys need to gel. Let them run around with each other this year and learn each other's styles / strengths / weaknesses. Next year they'll click. At the moment they just need to rack up time together and as Ratten said, they need to dish it of to him. Get him in...

Re: Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention
the good thing is that we have always had an overabundance of half-back-flankers. bring onto the HBF: Roberton / Savage bring into the midfield: Hunter Clark / Long (in bursts) The good thing about Long is his mongrel and effective use of the body, a little bit old school and likes to hope and shoul...

Anyone else hoping that Roughy comes out of retirement and plays on with us for 1-2 years? I reckon his on-field leadership would be invaluable .
