Re: Excitement surrounding Max King

At the moment, he is easily shoved away from the ball. I have confidence that will change as he gains weight and strength. He also needs to throw his arms up for the umps to see how he is being monstered off the ball....every other forward does it. You are right, King is one player that doesn't exa...

Re: Excitement surrounding Max King

Let’s just settle down a bit. He certainly didn’t clunk his marks this season and that is make or break for his future. Hope that is just a matter of strength and maturity. I loved everything about King this season and some have mentioned that his kicking is a concern but I think with a bit of conf...

Dunstable for me.

I don’t have a rational argument, it’s just that I don’t want to see Ross in the team anymore

Re: Seb Ross Vs Dan Hannebery

I would definitely keep Hannebery, even if he stays injured the whole season.

Why? No Ross, no turnovers. Thankfully Ratten knows what he wants from his players ... guys that can consistently hit a teammate up.

As least Hannebery can be a cheerleader from the stands.

Billing’s emergency
It’s more a kick up the backside. Want him to earn his place and increase his impact on games.

Re: Round One team ...

Ideally I would like to see Marshall as a permanent forward to partner King. It can happen most of the time as long as Ryder stays injury free, but it can't really happen all the time because it's asking too much of Ryder to play ruck all game every game. I'd also like to see Battle become a permane...

Re: Draft night

I can understand the McLeod-Allison pick needing another tall forward, but where does Highmore fit into the side. We already have Wilkie, Coffield & Roberton to play the 3rd defender role, why recruit another? Could be salary cap, perhaps they are thinking ahead to 2022. Delist / trade Roberton...

Re: Matthew McLeod-Allison

The 2020 draft came and went. It was a marathon instead of a sprint which made the draw much less of a spectacle than it normally is. 2020 is the strangest year I can remember, in every way, which makes everything the new normal. But I’m pretty happy with who we picked and I reckon you should be as...

Re: Rowan Marshall

I agree he needs to stay at CHF for the whole year . McKernan is the insurance if Marshall gets injured . We need a ruck to ruck the whole game like Ryder. But if Ryder gets injured we are exposed because we don’t have a pure tap backup ruckman . When Ryder was injured and Marshall went into the ruc...

Re: Mock Draft

Talk of recruiting a ruckman is madness, they take years to develop. Personally I wouldn't go for a tall forward either, they'll take too long. We're about to enter the premiership window. Go for the best available midfielder or tall backman. If they are good enough they'll be able to compete for a...

Re: St Kilda: Jonathon Marsh has been delisted

If we use 2 picks in the draft I’d hope we only use the 1st pick on a kid and not use the 2nd pick on a delisted player, I’d rather look at trying an mature unknown player from the state leagues again and try and find the next Marshall/Wilkie/Sam Fisher/ Lambert etc.

Re: Banger

Does Harvs have any sort of relationship with Ratten? They are the same age and played at the same period (Harvs longer at both ends, but both long careers) It’s totally romantic but having Harvs at Moorabin for our burgeoning midfield brigade...yeah. As for North. They’ve been on the edge of reali...

Re: Official - Ed Phillips not offered a contract for 2021

I haven’t been the biggest DMac fan, but, let’s give him a break. Another big pre-season, and coming toward his peak age, he might be something yet. When I look at someone like McIntosh from Richmond, wow, not that skilled but an honest hard worker and now has a couple of medallions around his neck....

Re: Positive insightful BF post!

I think the scary thing about Richmond is that they keep winning flags with so many "low profile" players that wouldn't demand too much money. I doubt they are anywhere near having salary cap issues because players like Castagna, Baker, Lambert, Nankervis, Astbury, McIntosh wouldn't be bre...

Smilies BBCode is ON [img] is ON [flash] is ON [url] is ON Smilies are ON Topic review True that. I'm also of the opinion that Geary should graciously relinquish his captaincy. He would then be considered outside the top 22 players each week, unless there are injuries, or the opposition's team requ...

He actually played his best footy in the forward line.

I wonder if there's a spot for him as a permanent forward pocket.

Re: List Size is 37, Cap down around 10%

We could probably cut: Leo Connolly, Oscar Clavarino, Darragh Joyce. We'd then pretty much have a full list of AFL ready players. Boy, training will be red hot. You'll have to earn your spot. Dunstan and Ross will have a point to prove and perhaps a chip on their shoulder. This is good. Fierce compe...

Re: HIGGINS DEAL DONE

This is a bloody good trade. We only go down 4 spots and still get one of the best kids in the country. Giving away a 2nd round pick, who cares, it's a lottery when you have a pick in the late 30's. More importantly, we will be using a first round pick this year and not trading it away. Which means ...
