Re: Nathan Murphy
We have had a few useful multi sportsmen playing for us over the years - Simon O'Donnell, Sam Loxton, Sam Fisher, and some bloke called Keith Miller, to name a few.

Re: What a difference in post game emotions.
WHAT a roller coaster of emotions we Sainters ride. Last week in Adelaide I felt just about as bad as I have felt in years! Yesterday? well it was just pure JOY! On my way out of the ground, I saw a group of (obviously) very disappointed West Coast fans. With memories still raw, of the appalling be...

Re: Former Saint chalks up 300 games in style
Yep, great servant of the club - another worthy 300 club member along with Roo, Harvs, Barry Breen, Burke, Loewe, Greene. That mark in the 2010 GF was one of my treasued memories - albeit bitter-sweet.

Re: Clayton Oliver's goal
I watched it about a dozen times, and it actually hit the first post, and accelerated , hit the other post, and the spin direction changed. On my first viewing, I saw the acceleration, but kept repeating to confirm that I hadn't imagined it. The goal ump was moving quickly towards the ball as it ca...

Clayton Oliver's goal
Great goal, but does Anyone else think that this hit the post? On the slo mo it actually looks like it brushed the first goal post and then deflected off the second. Weird. Is it just an optical illusion? It looked like the Melbourne players celebrated quickly to influence the goal umpire's call.

Re: Anyone got an update on Webster?
I agree. We missed his run and aggression. There are few players in the league who can kick as flat and with as much pinpoint accuracy as he can. Yes, he turns it over at times, but he seems to be hitting targets more consistently this season.

Agreed. We have had plenty of those over the years. I'm not saying he should be in this week either. I'm just saying that I liked what I saw.Sainter_Dad wrote:Just hoping he is not "The next Great White Hope"saint64 wrote:Just watched the Marshall highlights on the website - hard not to be impressed!

Changes for the Blues
I wonder whether Roo might be rested this week, as he did look a bit sore against the Giants. If so, is Marshall a sneaky chance of being elevated? Did Paddy do enough to come in if he is not suspended?

Re: what's happened to Bazza
Jamie Shanahan was a really good player for us for a number of years leading up to that game. The criticisms of him here are a bit harsh IMO Cruel, but fair, saint64. The cat was one of my all time favourites, but I can't forgive him for Keddie. Same with Jamie. Good career ruined by one hour of a ...

Re: Game plan. Are we being honest with ourselves?
Are we discussing the Game Plan or the quality of our list and recuriting? We chose to draft Paddy McCartin ahead of all others, he's a gun stay-at-home forward in the mold of the great Tony Lockett. If we're looking for an alternate game plan why not play Paddy out of the goal square? This would s...
