Re: Shane Savage
Savage has a great penetrating kick that is a great weapon. He doesn't have to play of half back. Essentially he is just an outside release player. A designated kicker. He has his faults... re turn over but that happens when you take the game on. In a side rawr is desperate for outside mid fielders ...

Re: Prelim finals dates
Traditionally the top ranked team is on Friday night and the other team is on Saturday afternoon. Therefore Adelaide Friday and Richmond Saturday.... but who knows with the afl being addicted to cash and tv ratings.

Re: Armitage up for trade
A player that pretty much wasn't sited in 2017 due too chronic injury. Approaching 30 on a back ended contract. Must be with a first round selection at the trade table. We will pretty much have to pay for him anyway so might as well keep him as a viable backup or try and use him in a different capac...

Re: Hot rumour (not from me) - Daniel Menzel
The last thing we need is a injury prone list clogger.
With his knee reco's he will lose speed very quickly as he gets older.
AS for Motlop, has their ever been a bigger fair weather player. Absolute spud

Re: It Could Be Worse...
The Saints have done a similar thing .... back in the 90's all we had to do was beat Brisbane (probably the bears at that stage). From memory Brisbane had won a couple of games for the season. All the Saints needed to do was win and we would have made it to the finals ..... Saints lost and ended the...

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
Saints have a real issue with Leadership. Joey isnt great, but he has great experience to offer. The Saints need someone a little older, with experience to instill into the team. Riewaldt will be an enormous loss in this regard. Saints will become a very young side with little final experience after...

Re: Those shots on goal-
our accuracy this year will cost us the finals. AFL is simple. It can be summed up by "Kick more goals than the opposition". It staggers me that it is the least practiced element of the game. Every drill they have should be ending with a shot at goal. It is possible to see Bruce, Billings,...

Re: Those shots on goal-
Mav is there. Billings must be close as he has had a few that have fallen short and gone wide.
Good too see the saints not the worst shot at goal this year
Saints 241 goals 271 behinds
Bulldogs 236 goals 272 behinds

Although he was frustrating and unconventional Zac always put his all into the game. Yes he got beaten on occation but more times than not he held his end up.
Good luck for the future.

Re: Richo set to be offered long-term contract
Richo needs some tactically sound people around him. The saints won't progress further with the assistants he has at the moment. Richo looks like he is of in Zenland for much of the time game day. Work is required The forward line is dysfunctional. The mid field unbalanced and is brittle. The ruck h...

Medolink comes on board as a major sponsor to give all the players a corrective eye surgery so they can finally tell the small sticks from the large ones and diferenciate between players to stop turnovers.

Re: Steve Motlop
The fact that Geelong tried to flog him off last season and no club showed any interest should tell you something. Their CEO ( Cook?) was on radio this week saying that it may be in both parties best interest in looking to trade him next season ... He apparently has extremely poor work ethic, misse...

Roberton to Brisbane
I have heard through the bush telegraph, Roberton has been up in Brisbane seeking somewhere to live. NOo sure what happened to out war chest of available funds to protec...

Re: Todd Goldstein
If Billings kicked straight he would be considered elite (19.29 this year) as he averaging over 28 disposals a game. If his improvement keeps going he will be in Brownlow contention next year or the year after. Very disappointed if we trade this future absolute star. Goldfish is finished. Game has m...

Re: Eade, as a senior assistant?
I think it would be good. Richo is very good at the warm and glowy stuff (eg People management), but pretty ordinary on the game day and tactics (eg manic pressure is a game style not a game plan and bomb it long into the hot spot went out with the 80's). I think Eade probably lacks a bit in the EQ,...

Re: Saints by 10 goals
Saints thought they had it won in Round 1 and didn't bother turning up to play the game. I don't think they will take it lightly this time around.
Must win.
Go the Crows (I wanted to do that once in my lifetime ...... now it is done).
Win, the Crows win, we are in the box seat for the finals.

Re: Shane Savage
The team is better with him in the side. He has his faults (aerially, turnovers etc) but he has many positives. Saints lack outside speed which he makes up part of the gap. His booming kick is a weapon. Savage also attacks and takes the game on. Yes sometimes it doesn't come off. With the number of ...

Re: Team v Eagles
Saints caught in the "still could make it to September" mode. They need to sort out the list for next year and give a few games to Lonie, Wright, McKenzie which all look like duds to me. Lets face it with our percentage we have stuff all chance of making it. Give some of the c graders a go...

Re: Paddy Concussed
Take whatever Billy Brownless says with a grain of salt. He has a strong vested interest in getting McCartin to Geelong. Patty should be flat with footy. He has a huge expectation behind him and would feel that weight and no AFL player wants to play in the VFL. Added to that everytime he gets a run ...

Re: Would anyone care
It would be incredibly hard being the first. The biggest obstacle would be the Gay community and the media using them as the pin up boy. The player would never be remembered for their playing ability only as a gay icon. The players wouldn't give a stuff. Majority of supporters wouldn't give a stuff....
