He was a disgrace. No right to be there and just further evidence of AFL footy and conflicts of interest/jobs for the boys. Corrupt as all get out.

But St.Kilda made him make a fool of himself.

All comes down to the clubs relinquishing their own stadiums. AFL manufactured a reason and the clubs went for it. As usual, in no other code in the world has this happened. It is especially egregious that clubs away from Melbourne not only have their stadiums and thus $$$ but enjoy home ground adva...

Channel 7 a bigger disgrace than usual. McAveney kept willing Collingwood on, repeatedly talking about how hard they were going in. Couldn't wait for us to collapse. On top of it, "special" comments offered by an ex-Coll player and an ex-Coll coach. What a d**khead Buckley is. Also, not on...

Not a fan of GT. Never was. But this is deeply troubling. I've said it before on this site--the media is totally in bed with the AFL. That's why the criticism of the umpires, except when the most obvious errors are made, is tepid at best. It is also why there is barely anyone who criticizes the impe...

The joke in this article is the line by Mark Stevens: "But the AFL last night launched a strong defense of the investigation process, which exonerated umpires Head and Brett Allen of making inappropriate comments. "The matter's closed. It is over and dealt with," AFL spokesman Patrick...

Good point. The problem is we have a rules committee that is essentially in permanent session. As long as this is the case, to justify its existence, the committee will keep making up new rules.

Get rid of it!

The entire premise of the rule changes is a nonsense. First, their institution reflects a belief on the part of the AFL that something was wrong with the game. Ironically, the fact that they keep changing the rules is a tacit admission that there is something still wrong with the game and they are u...

The way he spoke of Ross Lyon makes me think BC harbours no bitterness towards him and it may, in fact, confirm that he knew Ross really wanted him but that he was overruled.

It is a bit of a silly competition. There are 1000s of players who fit the bill and as others have said, there is no attempt to define "tough" by this so-called journalist. Lazy. Robbie Flower was an exquisitely poised player but in the ten "toughest" of all time? No way. If you ...

Well the club's motto is Strength through Loyalty. Let them show it toward Carl, a genuine hero and one of our greatest ever players. Two suggestions: (1) The club should come to his aid in some way and; (2) my old school mate, David Grace, QC, should take the case pro bono. This is a very worthy ca...

I was 9 years old. I had been to just about every game that season but the Grand Final that year fell on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, and mum said no to going to the game. As such, we listened to the match on the radio in the car. The tension of that last quarter is still vivi...

Ditterich today would get suspended every game he played for example.
