Re: LDU
Going hard in the draft again this year means no trading for players. We don't have our own 2nd rounder so hope Adelaide doesn't finish the season strongly as we have theirs. Then in 26 we go hard for FA and if there are players available to trade in we go then too. The list management strategy is s...

2026. North will be under cap pressure like GWS and GC were with all their high picks.
Or 2025 trade for Howard - a win win.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
Forward coach should be first on our wishlist this year. Someone that will be considered the saviour of King's career.

Best available, midfield or key position.
Haven't we learned that drafting first rounders on need is doomed to fail?

Re: Sandringham v Frankston
Build players to their strengths, it's simple.
If it's 50/50 or even 60/40 where their role is, play them where the club needs them the most.
I suspect we are trying to shoehorn Pou into an inside mid in a 20/80 shot.

Re: Sandringham v Frankston
Someone (at the club, in selection, coaching, development) thinks he is a Matt Rowell type, because that's how they're playing him.

Hopefully can add a ball winning string to his bow but should be putting his stoppage work into getting the ball in dangerous positions.

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
1. Spread defenders 2. Lower eyes into 50 3. IF King draws a crowd…look elsewhere I’m convinced we resort to bombing into 50 not because it’s our “game plan” It’s because our players resort to this and slamming it on the boot when under pressure from better opponents I do think it’s psychological/i...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
I'm ok if we lose, but the selected team plays to the best of their ability. Our few bad losses this year have not been that way. Tanking with poor performance is a culture killer. Tanking with selection and targeted development is not. A good example is our lack of any wish to play a "close ou...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
And chased Brad Hill, who has copped a lot of vitriol on social media directly from angry 'fans' who questioned his efforts. It took some time to realise it, but Hill is the best thing to happen to the saints in the last 5 years. He is a great footy player but only as good as the role he is asked t...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
If we are this mediocre with a full list, and not much difference with 10+ on the injury list (some could argue better), that says a lot about our list from about 15 all the way through to 30ish.

Re: It's time to move Nasiah
Didn't notice this much during the game but on replay it was noticable that Nas was playing around and ahead of the ball a lot more. Still anchored at HBF but given freedom to move up and back from there. Definitely shifting forward and back, helped shift defensive forwards on him, and also influenc...

1/2 back just did my head in, thanks! Thankfully you didn't use 0.5 back.

It wasn't so much the hitouts that impressed me about Heath, he took the contest on and was Marshall-like with clearance work.

Generally after a win our only changes are forced.
Will depend if King is out.
Out: King
In: Heath or Sharman.

Re: Changes for Gold Coast
Bonner is one of those players that if it clicks for him, he could be a solid cog in our side.
He is being tested and will either be delisted or extended next year based on his performances.
Set him up for success but don't be afraid to chop him if he's no good.

Worth a discussion but I don't hold much credibility to rumours from Bigfooty.
As always there will be some truth behind it, but it could just be our bargaining tactics being broadcast to assist the deal or tempt other clubs into offers.

Again exonerating players and lumping it all on coaches is just dumb We saw Melb get belted by 100 points today ….poorly coached ??? Their own players skill level was deplorable and they turned it over as nauseum …sound familiar???? Think you’re falling for the 2 card trick and letting perennial Sa...

In: Heath
Don't care what it takes or whose spot he needs to take. His game yesterday was about the best VFL performance i've seen from a player yet to debut.

Can't change a team that quickly. Lyon is a great match day coach, no doubt about that. We haven't seen games turn our way on a dime like we have in the last 2 years. He'd be even better if he had 100 runner messages a game. Unfortunately, he doesn't. So it's up to the players to execute on game day...

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. King needs to play up the ground and stay out of F50 so both King and the team can find some form. Use his skills which is his running ability, aerial marking, and ability to follow it up at ground level. Playing up the ground will be like Jeremy Cameron and potentially take...

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
I'd love to know what their thoughts are on how the game turned after King went out of the game, clearly they will be undertaking some in depth review of that part of the game. I didn't think it was that much of a difference in real time watching the game, but the scoreboard suggests otherwise. Kin...
