Re: Sydney Stack ?
Why are we looking at more mids, we should be searching for a Key Forward, i don't know which tree they grow on but that's the recruiters job. It sucks that King and Hayes will miss the start of the season but overall the stocks on the list are pretty deep Dedicated key forwards: King Membrey Hayes...

Re: Training- Friday December 9
NWM in defence is an interesting move. Probably seen as a wingman long term but learning some accountability and defensive skills at half back might be good for his development. That would make room for Hill on a wing for a couple of years. I think NWM can be pretty decent overhead at well - he's fa...

On raw talent alone he could've gone first round. Let's hope he thrives in a professional environment and fulfills his potential, because his highlight reel is absolutely nuts.

Re: Tsadis / Phillipou / McKenzie
I have no idea personally, but an acquaintance in the industry rates these three as follows: 1. TSATAS - said he's top 5 and wont be there for Saints pick, if he was you'd be laughing. Has great pace and does some freakish things. 2. MACKENZIE - said he is a safe bet and has solid 200 game AFL play...

Should be a forward who has occasional bursts through the middle when we want to mix things up. Has the ability to be an AA small forward or a solid midfielder. My preferred round one lineup B: Paton, Howard, Wilkie HB: Coffield, Battle, Sinclair C: Hill, Steele, Billings HF: Higgins, Hayes, Owens F...

When I look at the list I can only identify 7 or 8 players that would be likely to get a game with any of the top 4 sides, which imho suggests the list is poor, others may think differently. Hoping that he gets into peak condition, plays on the wing and the game plan utilises his weapons effectively. That definitely wasn't happening with Ratts

Re: Jarrod Lienert delisted
I wonder if this is a product of Lyon's four hour meeting.
Lienert is a bit unlucky but realistically he was a one year cover for Coffield. Could certainly do a reasonable job for another side, but that's two years in a row that he's been delisted now.

Re: POLL Y or N- happy for Ross to be our guy again?
MIxed feelings for me. On one hand, it seems like we've been in cruise control doing 95km when the speed limit is 100 for the past 10 years. RL will get us going over the speed limit so we'll pass some others but we could crash and burn as well. I also don't like the guy. I hate the way he left and ...

Glad that he's going to be around next year but unless Ross has seriously changed his ways I'm not sure Bytel will get much of a chance.

Brilliant strategy. If we have every player on the list fit and firing for the entire season I bet we're playing finals. Should've thought of that before.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Wed 12 Oct 2022 10:22pm So our improvement will come from having injured players come back?

Re: Stocker and Dow
They're both interesting cases. Dow looked like a gun explosive mid as a junior but hasn't been able to put it together at Carlton. He's still only 22 though and I'd be fine with getting him for free. Stocker also has some good qualities but seemingly has physical limitations. Also only 22 years old...

Re: Sam Weideman
The Weed seems like a pretty ordinary player. Has never kicked 20 goals in a season and couldn't establish himself as a starting forward in a side with a dominant midfield. Not sure he offers much more than Sharman or Hayes. He would certainly offer more than Sharman, no doubt about that. Way more ...

Excellent result. 2nd round pick for a depth utility who wasn't best 22.
Good luck Ben, and here's hoping Libba can do something good with pick 32.

Would comfortably be in our best 22. Dumb move to trade him out for no reason. I wouldn't have been against bringing him back but he's also far from being a saviour.

Re: Another Narkle
Seems like he's had some big games on the occasion that he gets a decent amount of TOG. I'd take him on the list ahead of Byrnes who is another undersized mid with an ordinary defensive game. Don't think we should have both on the list though and apparently Ronnie got a new contract recently.

Re: Looking forward to 2023?
We have a lot of players who should improve but I don't think it will be enough to significantly improve our standings in the competition. I think we're stuck in between rebuilding and contending. If we had have landed some big additions to the squad like De Goey and Amon via FA without giving up tr...

Re: Wood, Highmore, Campbell, Peris one year extensions
Campbell showed in the final game that he can play second ruck, but cannot rest forward. In other words he needs to rest on the bench, making him a liability at AFL level. Cross! I wouldn't say that game shows that he can't rest forward. He's kicked 4 goals in an AFL game before, which Marshall has...

Re: De Goey offered 5 years from the Pies .
Played ‘OK’ in the first two finals did he? For a supposed A grader, with his contract on the line, with much to prove, and everything to play for, he was servicable. Then went totally AWOL against the Swans. From his combined first two finals: 50 disposals (25 contested, 36 effective) 3 goals 13 t...

Re: Should we inherit the Meek?
Meek would be a solid backup bt he like Campbell cant play forward. I think Campbell can be fairly handy resting forward. Has kicked 4 goals in an AFL game before. Not a permanent starting forward but if we wanted to get some ruck support for Roma against a strong opposition combo then he could pla...
