Re: On The Couch tonight is a must watch
Garry Lyon's frustration with King was on point. Said we'd been talking about this FOR THREE YEARS. And yeah, we have. Max doesn't lead, gets muscled out of contests, is not fond of second efforts, he twirls the ball before set shots and gets aggro at inapproriate times. All these things are fixabl...

Re: Coaching Appointments
Good post..History has spoken, but I remember when Watters was appointed, I too thought Ayres at the time, would really be a great option with his successful background, and he wouldn't have taken sh*t from some senior players like Watters, a raw new coach had to, and in the end we went down the cla...

Re: Can't take a trick...
I guess it's a matter of teams who are higher up the ladder are generally better than teams lower down the ladder, and those like us who are down the bottom end, have pull out a few extra special things to get over the teams above the as the season goes on. I used to work with a guy who knew nothing...

Re: Can't take a trick...
I noticed Butters had a huge game in their loss last week, and I just think we won't get over their midfield who are faster and better. We might do well in defence and ruck, but we can only hope.

Re: Clark and Dow
Clark has been in the system for a while now, and disappointed me last night. Played well in the third, but in the last, he looked like he was running in mud, and his man got a few crucial possessions. Dow did some nice linking things, but needs better players around him.

Re: Momentum killers
A big momentum killer is the lack of defensive pressure from our half forwards- the work rate required keep the ball in the scoring zone..it killed us last night especially in the first half. Yet again, an opposition defender is amongst the best on the ground. Bonner did a couple of poor things, but...

Re: Something changed
Any coach who needs to resort to giving his team a spray after the first quarter at this level, is clearly not getting his message through. So what you're saying is there are 18 coaches in the AFL not getting their message through. Even Longmire has given the top team the Swans a spray at several q...

Re: Changes for next week
Too many inconsistent efforts last night.
Depending on availability
Out - Clark, Ross, Jones
In- NWM, Sharman, Garcia
Henry to the midfield, Steele to the forward half

Caminiti has a future, as does Wilson and Arie, and they will only get better. I'm hoping we can get Heath in for a game this season too.

Re: A YEAR IS A LONG TIME IN FOOTBALL
This time last year the experts were all over Geelongs list and coaches. There list was shown to have that many apparent flaws in it there was no way they could make the eight let alone challenge for the flag. We all heard the following assumptions. There midfield was one paced Ottens wasnt up to i...

It may be that after this time, Josh wants to play in a successful club instead of a middle rung club for his entire career.

Re: Who is our "enforcer?'
I think those enforcer days are back in the '60s and '70s. I do think the we lack a bit of strength in the middle size players we have- they don't quite impact contests.

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
There's those of us who believe the overall strength of the side more than makes up for the lack of one or two A grade midfielders. Steele almost won the Brownlow, so he's definitely A grade. Then theres Clark, Dow, Windhager (who can shut down a Naicos) ... and we have strengths in other areas of ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
And in regards our attack, we have King who is how old, Caminiti who is a junior still developing and Membrey who is (just about) midfielder size King needs support, as does the 199cm Howard at the other end and Marshall, our sole ruckman With Howard down Marshall gave assistance to our height comp...

Re: Ross Lyon tactics
Seems to me that some coaches figure out a way through this RTB’s plan and some don’t. When they figure it out… we tend to look pretty bad. That said… I thought RTB put on a master class on Saturday night He packed the backline and hard tagged a running mid and that was about it.. pretty basic stuf...
