Re: Who is our "enforcer?'

I think those enforcer days are back in the '60s and '70s. I do think the we lack a bit of strength in the middle size players we have- they don't quite impact contests.

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

There's those of us who believe the overall strength of the side more than makes up for the lack of one or two A grade midfielders. Steele almost won the Brownlow, so he's definitely A grade. Then theres Clark, Dow, Windhager (who can shut down a Naicos) ... and we have strengths in other areas of ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse

And in regards our attack, we have King who is how old, Caminiti who is a junior still developing and Membrey who is (just about) midfielder size King needs support, as does the 199cm Howard at the other end and Marshall, our sole ruckman With Howard down Marshall gave assistance to our height comp...

Re: Ross Lyon tactics

Seems to me that some coaches figure out a way through this RTB’s plan and some don’t. When they figure it out… we tend to look pretty bad. That said… I thought RTB put on a master class on Saturday night He packed the backline and hard tagged a running mid and that was about it.. pretty basic stuf...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

So, not noticing King at that time, I would assume that the GC defender was endeavouring to keep King in such a position that the GC defender could peel off to impact (either of) Henry or Higgins And King was trying to lead him away hence the GC defender impeding King’s movement by holding him In t...

James Bartel just agreed Worst game of the year RL has now coached the 5 lowest scoring games at Marvel 2008, 2010, 2023, 2023, 2024 Did the opposition sides in those games not have coaches? Ross is indisputably a great structural coach whatever talent or lack thereof he has to work with. P. Roos m...

Re: Ross Lyon you do my head in

Whatever Lyon is doping, the style of footy he has this team playing is keeping people from coming to matches- even mates from the bush don't want to come down to watch matches this season

Clark did ok, but lapsed in the third where Rowell got away from him and got CG back in the game. Probably best value is on the ball, linking up

I'm kind of sick of people making excuses for King- he got flogged last night and only looked slightly better when he went up the field.

Marshall to spend more time forward and let Campbell go h2h with the Big O.

Takes heat of King. He was best when he had Ryder/Marshall there too.
King played better under Ratts, but he has to pull his finger out- got lead to the ball tonight.

He's doing that because the midfield are flat footed and not offering an option- should be at Roma's feet

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns

Wtf was Bonner doing at the feet of the ruckman for a forward stoppage? Think Saints. He is neither a mid or a shut down defender. Get him the f*** out of the congestion That's on the leadership Bonner doing pretty well in close. Our midfield fell away in the second half of that quarter and need to...

If there was ever a player who doesn't look like a midfielder, it's Pou. Needs to be in the forward 50

Re: Changes for Gold Coast

WTF is going on, we only just beat a very mediocre West Coast Eagles team last week with several passengers in the team and we make no changes to take on the Suns. We’re fair dinkum tanking, I can seen a 8 goal defeat coming our way. Yeah WCE had their best forward and one of their better onballers...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..

I wonder if and how Alan Richardson is viewed at Melbourne? It seems the Dees won a premiership in spite of him and Goodwin being in charge, rather than because of them. Perhaps another testament to the strength of their list. Did Goodwin, do like Alan Joyce when he was at Hawthorn in 1988 and 1991...

Well done RtB in leaving out Crouch 👍 Anyone who disagrees with team selection is a Ross Lyon hater 😂 We’ll said Bout time you got on board and stopped being a pillock Welcome to the RTB club I think Ross is struggling. Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..

Oh FFS, King is worth 10 Caminitis who is not even a VFL quality footballer at this point in time. Glad the Club doesn't listen to hairbrain suggestions. Caminiti is 3 years behind King in age and development. If they were both 20yo and I was wanting to build a premiership team I would select Camin...

Re: Sandringham v Frankston

What role do you see Sharman playing at AFL level? He’s not a key forward - not big enough He’s not a hybrid - not agile enough He’s a medium kick mark player. Bit like Membrey but not as powerful. Looks a forward to me, maybe at FF while Max, who I don't see as a key position forward, plays furthe...

Caminiti to me seems more like the old second ruck/ forward type of player, who does the bulk of the ruck work in the forward half, where Sharman is a straight out forward.

This isn't going to be popular but I wonder if trading Max King to bring in midfield recruits is the answer and put the development into Caminiti as out number one banana. Sometimes you have to be ruthless, Clarko did it when he first got to Hawthorn and it looks like Mitchell is doing it again at ...

Re: Changes for Gold Coast

WCE only kicked 10 goals, so the defence is reasonably sound, and no change there needed. Need to get more of the ball in the midfield, and need better marking options in the forward half as the WCE backs just got a few too many intercepts marks, or won marking duels. Owens and Caminiti should be ma...

Re: West Coast recent home record

A good win in the west for us, but let's not get too carried away. WCE were undermanned in their forward half with Waterman out, who is a consistent goal kicker for them this season, and we only won by a couple of goals after playing an ordinary first half. I think this is what Enright was saying ab...
