Re: RTB finger on the pulse
Let's not forget Owens, who is not given much of a go in the middle We saw glimpses of it on Saturday, which was encouraging. Couple of times where he burst clear from the middle and went long and direct with the kick. I’d like to see it more often, but am not holding my breath. He’s a very powerfu...

Re: Ross Lyon tactics
They are yet to get close to winning away Except against us Talent is only one measure Lance Collard has lots of talent I’ve seen glimpses of it the couple of cameos he’s played. It can’t be easy for a young kid away from home for the first time. Let’s hope he can fulfill his ability with the Saints

Re: Ross Lyon you do my head in
So this is a good thread. Coming after RTB schooled Hardwick with a defensive masterclass, the OP asked us to sort out our scoring woes for RTB. The man himself is well aware of the problem and said as much during his presser. So far, most have reiterated the problem rather than offer solutions. Do ...

Re: RTB finger on the pulse
Would be a massive scalp for us, but I doubt we can hold them to 49 points. We need to find some goals. It will come, but maybe not for a little while yet.

Re: Out Membrey In Campbell
If we had two Marshalls, I wouldn’t hesitate to play one of them forward. Our opponents wouldn’t be able to put so much scragging work into King. Sadly we have only one, so we’ll have to find other solutions.

Re: Ross Lyon you do my head in
I don’t want to be too critical because we won against a pretty good team and our defensive game was fantastic. Also, it was largely a battle of defences with both well on top. However, it’s painful to watch and so frustrating when we dominate large swathes of the game and can’t see the rewards. Not...

I sadly think the latter which is why I’m all in on a top 5 draft pick this year and possible trades to bolster that so we can fix this midfield issue once and for all Failure for us this year is a run on wins….honourable 9/10th finish and out of the elite kids in the draft MUST take our medicine t...

Re: Changes for Gold Coast
No Crouch? Poor show actually. Someone doesn't give a rats for our win loss ratio. Puzzling, I wouldn't have thought that is in his DNA. Maybe doesn't think he can fit all of Dow, Steele, Windy and Ross in the same side. I thought Dow was good last week though, so if someone was to go out I wouldn'...

Re: AFL vs NRL officiating
That was as brutal a hit as I have seen. If it happened in AFL in the current climate, I’d expect it to be worth 12-18 weeks. Four weeks and a send-off seems lenient. Nowhere near as lenient as what Maynard got. That is true, but things have clearly changed since then. And in fact the league has re...

Re: Let's Talk About the Elephant In the Room
In the 4th quarter I saw a lot of lowering the eyes and bullet passes to forwards working hard ans presenting to honour good work up field. When was the last time we kicked 5 goals in a quarter. When was the last time our midfield was well on top in a game? Before Saturday, I mean. Probably Colling...

Re: Coaches votes Round 12 vs WCE
Surprised with no love for Windy since his move on to Reid essentially won us the match. Not sure how many other players in the comp can do a job on a rampaging Reid … or a Nick Daicos. Windhager has stitched the both of them up this season. That’s a handy card to have up our sleeves. Usually I muc...

Re: ..at the risk of positivity ..
Saints have (almost) a full list of players .. We have a huge batch of home games .. The majority of 'good teams' have got the heebie-geebies and lots of injuries .. And I still reckon we've got a better list than last year .. Let’s hope for a winning season from here on in. That will make for a ha...

Sorry Loris but it's Martial Arts. In any event the young guy has anger management issues and is a would be thug. Thanks saynta. At least I got the pronunciation right eh? I think he showed his frustrations, when he couldn’t control his game output. Lot to learn, only young, still has pimples on hi...

Re: Harley Reid karate chop on Windy's throat
One of the last stoppages on the boundary . Less than 30 seconds left on the clock until the final siren Reid and Windhager. Push and shove. Reid hits Windy with a karate chop to the throat. It's not easy to see because the camera is panning from a distance. No close up. No commentators saw it or m...

Jack Steele was on Reid in the first quarter and kept him quiet. Steele was released in the second quarter and Dow went to Reid. Worked alright most of the time until WC had a dominant period at the centre bounce and Reid, being untagged and alone on the defensive side of the ball up, capitalised. ...
