The Roo Issue

Is a complex one. Firstly, with the game now the way it is, having a key forward can be, as Alistair Clarkson said this week, a liability. Why? It is so easy to just double-team a forward out of the contest, like they do with Roo every week - particularly when the ball is moved forward as slowly as ...

It was Tippett....not Rutten, unless you are talking about a different incident. 150m behind the play, in Adelaides forwadline? Rutten down the other end of the ground.

I thought Armo was fantastic tonight - the only shining light in a very dark evening.

Congratulations to the young fella - maybe we are starting to seeing the making of a footballer, and a hard one at that.

Sad to say, but IMO we won't get close to making the 8. Very sad to admit it. With upcoming games against Carlton, Hawthorn, Melbourne (a chance), Freo at Freo, Collingwood, the Western Bulldogs and Geelong....that will just about end the season. Not being negative, just realistic. We will struggle ...

Firstly let me say I think Dawson has been very good down back this year, following on from last season. He is very solid on the spoil and is rarely beaten in a one on one contest, somewhat surprsingly. However, I agree that his physical presence in terms of tackling and crunching opposition forward...

Heard Ross on the radio before the game - apparently Cripps was pencilled in from 3 weeks ago but got a bit of the flu during the week, so was left out.

From that you would think he will definitely play next week, which is one positive.

I too think it's a bit harsh on Gamble after one match, although he didin't show a great deal. Blake is very solid down back - and that comes from a perennial Blake abuser! He was played in the wrong position, all night. Why? Who knows. I would've though he matched up perfectly on dud Hawkins, leavi...

Playing the devil's advocta here - but if this were another teams' misdemeanours and someone put up the line "Do you really think Roo and Lenny, Roo etc are the problem" then we would probably come down on them like this. 1. Whilst it wasn't his fault at all, Roo (the Captain) was caught i...

Totally agree. Am starting to get a little sick of having to justify poor behaviour again and again. We really are the laughing stock of the league, and it's no wonder. Yes, before anyone says it, of course I will stick with the boys and support them now more than ever blah, blah, blah. As a support...

You are such a sad person Plugger, I really feel sorry for you. The only way to treat these scumbags is to vote with your money. Just don't buy the crap - the HS has become this century's version of 'The Truth', only without the page 3 girl. Their treatment of St Kilda is reason enough to not buy it - it may only be a small thing, but if every St Kilda supporter...

What was he thinking? Surely his position at the Club would be jeopardy - to do that to the Captain, a man who prides himself on his professionalism, is beyond belief. The taking of the pic itself is no big deal - on a footy trip, far worse would be done. But to keep it on his computer - what the he...

Welcome Solar. First things first, moving down here get ready to hear very little AFL news that doesn't involve Geelong. Completely agree with the tunnelling - was a distinct ploy that was not once picked up by the umps, particularly when they targetted Goddard, who faced it 3 or 4 times.

Disgraceful act that needs to be taken out of the game.
