Not raining on any parades, I was/am as excited as anyone.
Best to remember just how injury decimated Essendon was though...esp. when Lloyd couldn't do much after half time.

I guess my point is - we weren't playing much.

I'd be interested to see how he stacks up against other small forwards in the comp. Maybe it's the category.

I have a dream!

Since fantasies seem to be coming true here's some more. 1. When a player crosses the 50m line, with some space and time, they have a shot rather than kick it sideways to a contested situation. 2. When we get the ball to the half forward line, and our tall forwards are one out with their men, we don...

I don't think we consider the players sacred lambs.
Perhaps the de-listers consider every player easy meat.
If we took any notice of the 'he isn't up to it and must be delisted' statements we wouldn't have, for example, BJ.
People were harsher on him that anything Jones has copped lately.

Thanks for posting that video. Just proved beyond doubt what an asset CJ has been to us this year and how much he's improved. He gives us so much run and is such an important link in the movement of the ball.I would never rely on him to kick the winning goal but I believe he'd have a hand in setting...

Great article and great acknowledgment for Milne. He's always been a gutsy player who wouldn't get a free kick if they pulled his head off his neck.

Hey, let's make a great post about Jason Blake about Jason Blake and not dive off into petty personal crap.
He deserves his time in the sun.
Has always been a personal favourite of mine.

I remember his first game but it was a horrible game - I don't remember Harves doing anything noteworthy but by the end of the season we were calling him 'Brownlow'.

Nick Riewoldt would be more important to any team than Luke Hodge.
Key Position players are hard to find.
Key Position players like him even harder.
A tough, talented mid-fielder shouldn't be judged against a tough, talented KPP -it's a nonsense.

Already have Kosi's autographed jumper. Got a bit Brahms and Liszt at a function in Perth and shelled out at an auction.
Hope it's not an omen...we got smashed that day.
Haven't been West since.

I agree Jiggster, the whole Blight beatup was pathetic.
I did laugh when Luke Darcy called him 'dignified' after his 'rat's tossbag'
and 'it's a wank' comments. They are all so far up each other its not even funny.

Can't let this slide

Has anyone else noticed Tim Lane getting stuck into us two weeks in a row. By us I mean St Kilda supporters. On 774 after the Carlton game...his final words were to tell us we really hadn't beaten anyone, hadn't really scored a lot so his advice was to keep our feet on the ground. Par for the course...

The missing point

Can anyone tell me what happened to Roo's point ....he scored it in the first quarter but all I ever hear is 6 straight, 6 straight. Checked the stats in the Sunday papers and yes, there it was, 6goals 1 point, have watched the replay...yep, there is the point sailing through the point posts, flag w...

Channel 10 lingered on it for a while in the last quarter. It was wonderful television.

3. Hayes
2. Milne (very under-rated performance)
1. Hudghton

Also honourable mention for Luke Ball's game. His close in work never faltered and added some genuine defensive pressure in the forward line.
And kicked two goals!

I wonder at the use of pain killers to keep playing. Especially with such a bad injury. Probably made it worse.

Isn't whinging part and parcel of being a football supporter?
It comes with the territory surely... what supporter doesn't whinge? I work in an office with Richmond supporters and they've turned it into an Olympic event.
