Re: Geary

Problem is plenty of his clangers are when he’s under no physical pressure.

They can be real momentum breakers.

He has a heart bigger than Phar Lap though.

Re: Team v Blues

Lonie is hopeless, obviously because of his height, in the air. He appears to have no leap at all, and gets caught in one v one marking contests all the time, which end in the opposition possessing the ball. All of the decent small forwards can at least compete in the air, Lonie can’t. Imo he should...

At 35 games Rooey had kicked 30 goals. Given a couple early were down back. His first bag was Stewie Loewe’s last game when he kicked 6. Which was around about game 28. Roo played alongside Stewie (for his first 28), G Train, Sammy Hamel, which meant he would get at least the 3rd tall defender on h...

Re: I Just Can't Stand Richo.

We’re just making up the numbers atm. The AFL needs us so there’s no bye every week.

Staying out of trouble and being vanilla/beige like Richo keeps HQ happy.

In the mean time we don’t get the best out of our rebuild and stink it up.

Particularly if Hickledik plays!!!! Also interesting that your opinions are so far from those that matter, ie St.Kilda FC powers that be, again, proves my point, opinions of supporters like yourself have no reflection or influence over the running of the club and decisions made, such as selection!!...

Obviously Richo’s form criteria is different to most people on here.

It appears he rewards negating roles quite often.

Re: Right Place at the Right Time? AFL Rule Changes Imminent....

The returning to positions is about creating more 1 on 1 contests. And hopefully having more centre clearances like Harvey to Lockett in the old days.

Re: Right Place at the Right Time? AFL Rule Changes Imminent....

If both teams kick around 100 points there’ll be around 70 interchange.

The lower the score the less changes.

Re: Right Place at the Right Time? AFL Rule Changes Imminent....

I’m assuming people want higher scoring contests and less congestion. So here are my suggestions. Interchange are restricted to 2 per team per goal. Players must return to traditional starting positions after each goal. Pockets start in the pocket, behind the 10 yard square line. FF and FB in the 1...

Re: Would you back me?

Ok well.. What exactly do you bring to the table? What plan do you have? What is the strategic financial plan that you have that will get us out of the red in say the next five years? How will you increase membership? How will you review the football departments and employees? How will this all be ...

Re: Would you back me?

I’m 32 - work in an accounting firm as a Senior Manager. I am not rich, I dont drive a flashy car, and I’m just an everyday bloke who grew up in Lalor. I dont have any great connections, but I do have contact with the family owners of one of our major sponsors. I’d have the backing of the accountin...

Re: Paddy to wear a helmet!

The science on helmets and concussions comes from other sports, most of it has been done in sports where they wear hard helmets. There’s been no studies that I’m aware of that have been undertaken specifically with AFL players, soft helmets and concussions. Padding between a collision of two hard su...

He didn’t get concussed or injured. He didn’t set the world on fire, but considering the ordinary delivery and how scrappy the game was it’s not surprising. The other young inexperienced key forward for the opposition had close to identical stats. We won... moving on to rd.2. Paddy has played 22 inj...

Re: Why oh why, do the Saints love to BOMB?

You would assume three scenarios... 1. The players are instructed by the coaches to bomb it. 2. The players are not following instructions and bombing it. 3. We’re instructed to bomb it long under certain circumstances but we’re over doing it in panic, while under pressure. If it’s 1. we’re in the n...
