PLugger Lockett
my son has just had the pleasure of talking to one of the all time great saints - Tony Lockett. He was setting up an interview for Rex Hunt's radio show and had to ring the great man. he loves the Saints - confirmed his fondest memories in footy are of playing at Moorabbin with the saints. Could not...

Re: Team v Nth
I would have liked them to be braver and rejuvenate the 22 more. I get the feeling we will run out of petrol this game - all year we've shown we can't sustain a high level for more than 2 games. Eli deserved a run, Lee we still haven't tested much, Murdoch - where is he at, Lonie is in good form, S...

saints game plan.
The game plan richo has introduced is making footy enjoyable again. We move the ball constantly and at break neck speed. When we lose possession the swarm is deployed with extremely aggressive body on body pressure to force turnovers. We are acclaimed as the best pressure team in the AFL now. We als...

Re: Jade Gresham he's ok
He was very good particularly in the second half. But gee that goal was just pure class. He was able to think his way through that get past the geelong player with power in his legs and then calmly slots a ridiculous goal. He is a genuinely good pick up for us - is going to be a super player for us.

I can do the whole story but don't feel like it as I'd rather concentrate on the more likely targets in mind.

BJ was a terrific player for us - gave everything he had in him in our GF and finals series under Rossy. He and Lenny almost got us over the line in 2010!! They were both totally spent. Remember he played in the 09 GF - got a broken nose and busted collarbone through his tireless efforts to get us u...

Stonecold has been hot on the rumours over the years. I reckon he has earnt some credits on that basis. So he missed on Heppell - but if this is some thing he has picked up - it is exciting. Hurley grew up a saints supporter, no doubt he is pissed at what happened at Essendrug fc. Fisher and dempst...

Re: 20 years ago. Trevor Barker. RIP
What a wonderful player and man. This oh so young man was the reason i became a lifelong saints supporter. His utter loyalty to the saints was good enough for me to remain so. He was the best mark for his size i have ever seen. He was also highly skilled below his knees. A great tackler and good use...

Re: Thank this bloke for our loss today
So we had an ex saints player desperately trying to prove he is not biased towards the saints - he goes completely the other way and is so biased towards whoever we play against!! And then we have our Hawks fanatic kid umpire getting jittery in the last quarter and made sure his hawks got over the l...

This umpire is a Hawthorn supporter has been all his life. His cover photo on his twitter acc is the hawks premiership from last year. He should not have been allowed to umpire any hawks game. What the hell was/is the afl thinking.

Yes, I think the board is doing a terrific job - really impressive.
Intersting stat for trivia buffs - in his last 12 games at Moorabbin - Big Tony Lockett kicked a lazy 109 goals!!! He owned that ground!!

Re: Chapman 'slams' Goddard (B) in upcoming book
BJ gave his all for the Saints - played with broken nose and collarbone in 09 Grand Final - and he and Lenny almost willed the saints over the line in 2010. He couldn't have given any more. That mark he took - seconds earlier he was up the other end of the ground. He was trying desperately to get us...

Re: Pass mark for Jake is AA selection
Look, we know he can play - he is immensely talented. Obviously he is not so bright!! This is a monumental stuff up on HIS part - not ours, not anyone else's either really. Just Jake. I think this will turn out ok - we all underestimate the respect and esteem that our captain is held in AFL circles....

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
So what if Essendon did ok out of it? Our aim wasn't to do them over, it was to get Carlisle and maintain a presence in the first round. We achieved that. Anyone who's motivated by trying to get one over the drug cheats is as bad as they are. That's what they try to do and they failed miserably. Fa...

Re: Is the Club Being Pig Headed?
We are staying strong, Carlisle is committed to getting to St.Kilda and we won't be bullied or railroaded by Essendon or anyone. It's fine to say the club will stand firm and wont be bullied. I get that, and I believe the club will. Will Jake and his management though? Will they crumble? Pretty jui...

Re: Is the Club Being Pig Headed?
This is an incredibably ridiculous situation that has developed. The Hawks had absolutely no right to stick their beaks in. The young man has chosen us - that is it . It is now incumbent on Ess to deal with the Saints to get this trade completed. The amount of pressure being applied to the StKilda F...
